Publisher's summary

The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

In Winter's Heart, the ninth novel in Robert Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, Rand al'Thor and his friends face personal trials in their quests to build alliances against the Dark One.

After locating Masema Dagar, the Prophet of the Dragon, on Rand’s behalf, Perrin Aybara returns to his encampment to discover his wife Faile has been abducted by the Shaido Aiel. Determined to reclaim her, Perrin forgoes his mission, risking his army in pursuit of a dangerous and unpredictable enemy.

Wounded and trapped in the Seanchan-occupied city of Ebou Dar, Mat Cauthon is awaiting an opportunity to leave. But he is not the only one in hiding. Three Aes Sedai are desperate to escape. As Mat seeks a way to smuggle them all out of the city, he encounters his own prophesized fate when he meets the Daughter of the Nine Moons.

Rand himself is on a mission of vengeance. He has tracked the traitorous Asha’man who tried to kill him to Far Madding. It is a city where no one is capable of channeling the One Power, leaving Rand vulnerable to those who would stop at nothing to destroy the Dragon Reborn…

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

Some great plot progress!

Sometimes Robert Jordan is prone to dragging out unnecessary sub plots or filling the main plot with grudgingly lengthy descriptive detail…okay so not sometimes. It’s pretty often. But this book felt shorter snd made quicker progress than some of the others. I enjoyed it.

2016 & You Haven't Fixed The Chapters & Repeating Audio?@

Why would you still have this product on the store? I've read through many complaints regarding the repeating "chapters" and the 4 minute "chapters". Is it that difficult for an audio engineer, or whoever puts your titles online for purchase, to edit the audio into the actual chapters and remove the many repeated sentences? The horribly short "chapters" and the repeated audio killed my immersion. I prefer to set a sleep timer to end at each chapter, but alas this did no good with this "book". I've thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the series. I hope the remaining books aren't put together so poorly.

Yes, you get to read the review twice to give you a small taste of what to expect if you purchase this book. I do not recommend this one book from the series.

Another great addition to the Wheel of time.

Not a series for everyone, but if you love a deeply fleshed out world. This is a great book in an amazing series.

Ages come and go

These audiobooks are top tier. Kate Reading's "Illianer" accents are hilarious and perfect, while Michael Kramer has unique and distinct voices for all of his major characters. As always, Robert Jordan's stories are top tier listening material.

Great book, poor editing

What did you love best about Winter's Heart?

Michael and Kate gave their usual Great performance. The story had me listening every chance I could. However the editing really let them down.

What did you like best about this story?

The story really pulled me in. The outcomes were amazing. loosing Robert Jordan was a loss.

What three words best describe Kate Reading and Michael Kramer ’s voice?

captivating,

Any additional comments?

There were pauses that seemed like the end of a section for it to turn out to be a pause mid paragraph. There was also repeated pros. there was about 12 times a line was repeated, when this happened it really threw me and I was thinking about the editing not the story.

Repeated lines

Every hour or two a line was repeated, should have been caught in post editing.
