Publisher's summary

Prince Roger is coming home, but home isn't what it was when he left. Traitors have murdered his brother and sister, his nieces and nephews. His mother, the empress, is still alive but in the hands of Roger's own biological father, who controls her through drugs and physical and psychological torture. A new heir to the throne has been conceived, and once the child is born his mother will no longer be necessary to the traitors' plans. Prince Roger must somehow retake the empire from the men who control it before his new brother is born and his mother dies. It's an impossible task, but Prince Roger knows all about impossible tasks.

Good listen.

Good as usual. Very detailed info militarily. I am not too interested in the battle details but it was still very good.

Good but not great

Not my favorite of the series I enjoyed it but not as much as the previous books. It had some good moments but they seamed muddled and not quite as captivating as previously in the series. Its worth the purchase if your a fan of the series already however the voice acting is very good and added to my enjoyment of the book.

Outstanding

This segment like the others leaves you wanting more.
It has it all, from suspense, love, treachery, and battle.
Just hope there will be more.

Unfinished business.

Love the series. I've listened to it at least 5-6 times and read it in paperback several times as well. There is definitely room for at least one more book and Roger clearly has a score to settle and unfinished business. Please write a capstone to this awesome series.

Superb end to an excellent series!

I greatly enjoyed all four books. My only regret is that it does not continue. It feels like there could be another 3 books or so to see where Rodger could go next in his development.

Great series but needs another book to wrap things

I thoroughly found this series as a non stop read. It needs the finale book to complete the read. Please.........

Ringo and Weber have outduned Dune

Yea yea, I'm probably exaggerating and oversimplifying. However, I haven't enjoyed a scifi series as I have enjoyed Prince Roger in years! This series is a must.

Great Series, Decent Ending

I've really enjoyed the Prince Roger Series. I found this six or seven years ago and have just finished my third time through the series. I'm normally more of a Fantasy genre guy than Sci-Fi, but this series is so full of robust characters that it is hard to put down. I would put this as one of my top ten book series that I've listened to. Weber and Ringo have kept me involved with the story and characters all the way through each time I've listened to it. Rudnicki is perfect for this group of books.

I gave it four stars instead of five as my opinion is this is the weakest of the four books. That said, it is still a great read but not quite to the story-telling caliber of the first three.

After all the marching we finaly find Prince Roger ready to return home and claim his place. Well written with the possibility of more stories later.

Wish that they would tell about the war and crushing prince Abdullah. Got to go for the throat.
