Publisher's summary

A warleader seeks redemption. A High Mage doubts his success. A commander faces his past. A queen hardens her resolve.

Tobin's domination of Hesh has left him feeling empty, the cost of victory too high. A recurring nightmare drives him to learn the one truth that could ease his heart. Just when he thinks he may have found peace, an unlikely foe pushes him back into a life he wanted to avoid.

A High Mage is on the cusp of victory when a power he did not anticipate reveals itself. Rattled, his aggressive strategy changes to one of caution. He searches for a way to overcome the new threat while guarding himself against traitors among his would-be allies.

Kaz's returned memories of wife and home are a mixed blessing. The memory that brings him the most joy causes pain to someone he cares for greatly while the memories of his brother only inspire hate. Before he can return home he must win a battle against insurmountable odds. More than ever, the support of the Hell Patrol will determine his success.

At the High Pass, Queen Elyse's war-torn army faces a massive horde of invading warriors. In Lyrosene, her throne is threatened once again, but by someone she never suspected. The two conflicts consume her night and day as she wrestles with a solution to her problems.

The end

The final book is not lacking in action, drama and death. I got through this book within two days because I just couldn’t stop wondering what would be next. Rarely a slow moment. While everything is left in a way that does not make you overly frustrated (a good solid ending) there is still room for perhaps another book to follow.

Fantastic War & Love Story!💜

What a fantastic way to wrap up this trilogy. I was happy yet saddened because I also realize as I mentioned in my review for book 1, that sometimes in War good people die. With that in mind, I couldn’t think of a better way to conclude this trilogy. I still think there were too many factions or clans but overall this was a fantastic story. I believe that the narration was done brilliantly by Jon E Waters who’s performance of each character, each emotion and each moment was stellar.
This is book 3 in this trilogy. This story should be read in order. I recommend this book/series.

The end to an excellent series!

The end to an excellent series by Joshua P. Simon. The characters are well developed, unique, and relatable. The overall story is well written and a good read. The plot moves at a good pace, a great amount of action mixed with appropriate dialog. I look forward to the next book/series that Joshua P. Simon writes! Audio Version: Jonathan Waters continues to go a great job after developing the characters voices in book 1.

The awesome epic conclusion

The story wraps up in stunning fashion here. Some characters come full circle and others just evolve beyond what they ever thought that they would. You will not be disappointed. I want to add more but im also afraid to spoil anything. enjoy.

Passed

I DNF book one, so I decided to take a knee and pass on book two and three of the series. Don't let this review stop you from listening and coming to your own conclusion.
