The downside to faking your own death is that people tend to get upset when they find out they’ve been had. Members of the Norse pantheon aren’t particularly pleased with Atticus either—especially one who had languished in darkness, slowly going mad, and is now free to work his mischief again.

Great series, but this one a little flat

Luke Daniels again does amazing, but I never live it when a series changes the way it's written. I doubt care for Granualle s narrative, but that could be because I've been living through Atticus for so long. I love the series, but I think this one is a little draggy for me. I read this and the next ones, though, so I don't think it ruins the overall series.

This book gets back to the fun of the series!

Trapped is a quick, fun listen. It's a good light book!

Oberon is my favorite character because of the humor he brings.

Oberon! I love the voice he puts to him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I didn't want to stop listening! I would take longer walks just to keep listening to it!

Would you consider the audio edition of Trapped to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version but the reader really brought the characters to life in a way I think would have been missed in the print version. I also appreciated the pronunciation of many names and places that would have been difficult to read.

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels – was your favorite?

I love all the characters but Oberon is by far my favorite.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud quite a bit during the whole series.

I came late to this series and was so addicted I listened to one right after the other. I can't wait for June to hear the next one. I highly recommned this series.

Iron Druid series is a "Must Read!!"

Fantastic story, fabulous Narrator Luke Daniels!!! I have a huge library and this series is my top favorite series! If you have a boring personality, don't bother, way too much excitement and awesomeness for you! Everyone else please enjoy!

So Begins the *Story*

Would you listen to Trapped again? Why?

Absolutely. Books 1 and 2 introduce the characters. Book 3 gives us the match to the fuse. Book 4 sets the stage. Book 5 is where the overall story arc really starts. I think that the books from 5 through the end will form one coherent narrative to take us to the end.

What did you like best about this story?

Ummm ... that thing I wanted to have happen, that almost *had* to happen finally happened.

Also the fleshing out of Tir Na Nogth was nice - getting a feel of the place and the inhabitants gave it depth.

What about Luke Daniels’s performance did you like?

As usual, Luke Daniel's does a magnificent job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Any additional comments?

Still going strong, though as with the last couple of books, a little less Oberon would be appreciated. Moving from loyal hound to sausage snarfing Yoda has been a little jarring.

I love the characters. You actually have a real affinity for them The dialog is always intriguing. Oberon the dog is hysterical Love him The whole series is just very clever.

Great series despite the main characters

Granuaile will make the reader cringe. She rides a high horse judging everything that has the temerity to have a different opinion than her own.

Atticus acting like a 13 year old in a bad teen comedy anytime he sees a woman is the single most unbelievable part of the entire series. No one lives 2000 years yet fails to complete puberty.

Nearly ruined

Luke Daniels changed his voice and the voices of the characters. He sounds like an announcer rather than a normal person. I kept waiting for him to say, “more at 11. Back to you Chad.”

You'll keep reading just for Oberon

I took a bit of a break between the previous book in this series and this one. But I am very glad that I came back to it. This was one of my favourite instalments so far...

There was a bit of romance that I think any series readers would have already seen coming. I don't know that it added anything to the story, however. It was not detailed or graphic and, actually, the sex scenes were treated more like interlude between events... something that was there just to give the sense of time passing.

There is plenty of Oberon too. Not so much that he got annoying, but enough that it was pretty funny when he did 'speak up'. There was just a bit of mythological history in here; quite a bit less than some of the other books in the series. I liked that Hearne didn't try to turn it into a myth text book.

The story is told via a series of vingette encounters with the 'bad guys' and I have to admit the overarching storyline that held these little segments together was a little on the sparse side. It felt mostly like: attack A, escape and investigate, attack B, escape and romantic interlude, attack C confront the source and resolve.

Hah... even saying all that, I still really enjoyed this book. The pacing is terrific, Oberon is terrific, even Atticus has some decent one-liners. I don't think you'd enjoy it nearly as much if you hadn't read the rest of the series. There is no cliffhanger, but I will be reading the next in the series.
