Good story good voice actor

I loved this story! I really love Averys bravery. She's so willing to lay down her life for children and I loved how protective she was over the people she healed. I am very intrigued by the aspect of the peace and death lilies. A small part of me is hoping that Flea is going to be reincarnated or come back to life. I was so sad when he died. I wasn't expecting him to die, it came out of no where.
I'm so happy to see her with Karrick. Even though he did slap her in the beginning. I do feel like he made up for it though. I think his connection to the forest is super cool and how he taught his men to blend into he forest.
I'm very much looking forward to the next book.
Voice actor was great and had distinct voices for each character

I'm now a fantasy fan.

Wanting to broaden my scope by listening to something in the fantasy genre, I listened to Maria V. Snyder's Poison Study narrated by Gabra Zackman. I was HOOKED! The sequels were equally as delightful and I was missing them dearly when I finished. When Touch of Power was available, I immediately downloaded it and listened and was not disappointed. The story line is interesting and I found myself taking longer walks so I would not have to turn it off. The only bad thing is when they end. More please.

I love this author and all her series. This is my favorite series to reread & rehear third time around but who is counting

Touch of Power

This is the first in a really great trilogy. The narrator did a great job, and the story kept a really good pace. The plot is about a struggle between powerful people (and former schoolmates) for leadership and rule of a land. The main character, who has been personally effected by decisions made by those powerful people, has the difficult task of understanding why good people do bad things as she tries to "pick sides". The twists and turns make it hard to put down. There is nothing predictable about this story line.

Good Clean Book

It is a good story line with adventure. I thought it was pretty good. I will be listening to the whole series.

Excellent

I love the world building and character development in this book. I’ve read the written edition and chose to try the audiobook and was not disappointed! The pacing lends itself well to the audiobook format. The narrator does an excellent job differentiating between characters. I was never confused as to whom was speaking. 10/10 would listen again!

Narrator is wonderful.

I've read all of the Poison Study series, Touch of Power is a great, and a good way to keep the enjoyment going if you need more MV Snyder. The narrator, Gabriel Zackman does a wonderful job, and she has a great variety of voices. I'm excited for the second book.

I loved this

I absolutely loved this book. I can’t wait to read the next. I always love Maria V Snyder’s stories. This didn’t disappoint, and the voice actress was great!

False & misleading advertising & reviews - BORING!

I received an email from Audible. I mean who hasn???t gotten an email from them ???helping??? us to find books to spend our credits on? So it suggested some good romance books for me???cause that???s my area of interest. Like a stupid, blind, propaganda-following-fool, I put this book in my Wish List. The reviewers were raving about it and so, not having ever read this author, and wanting something new???I took the plunge???apparently into a toilet bowl of lies, melodramatic plant infested storylines and absolutely NO ROMANCE whatsoever. About three fourths of the way into the boring listening experience I wondered if there would ever be anything even remotely resembling a romantic scene. So I went to my local bookstore and found a copy of this book. Here it is people: There are 390 pages and the first kiss between the main characters starts at page 369. It???s so un-noteworthy that the ???sex??? scene is a whole three sentences long. I???m not into porn on earphones, but could I get a little bit more finesse in there that could possibly mollify me after hours of listening to the main characters being caught and released so many times I felt like I was listening to a fishing show? No. Absolutely damn not. Such a waste of a credit it makes me wanna hurl. All of you who gave this a good review need to go and get a clue. Audible needs to yank this thing out of Romance and put it where it belongs: In the sincerely-boring Fantasy section. I should have just listened to the radio. It???s free.
