Publisher's summary

Sequestered in the blackness of the dreaded Tower of High Sorcery in Palanthas, surrounded by nameless creatures of evil, Raistlin Majere weaves a plan to conquer the darkness - to bring it under his control.

Crysania, a beautiful and devoted cleric of Paladine, tries to use her faith to lead Raistlin from the darkness. She is blind to his shadowed designs, and he draws her slowly into his neatly woven trap.

Made aware of Raistlin’s plan, a distraught Caramon travels back in time to the doomed city of Istar in the days before the Cataclysm. There, together with the ever-present kender Tasslehoff, Caramon will make his stand to save Raistlin’s soul.

Or so he believes.

Wonderful continuation of Dragonlance. Horrible narrator

I love the Dragonlance stories, Time of the Twins is a great continuation of Raistlin’s passion for power. It’s only because I love the story so much that I keep listening. The narrator is the worst I’ve heard. Couldn’t he at least have listened to how the narrator of the original trilogy pronounced names of characters? I kringe EVERY time he says Tas (he says it as Toss). If I had the option to have another narrator, I’d take it in a heartbeat.

Try and make it through the series, it’s worth it, even if your ears are bleeding because of the narrator.

Story is Fantastic, Narration Could Be Improved

The story is way more dramatic and original then the Chronicles trilogy. I do with other members of the Heroes of Lance had bigger parts aside from Caramon, Raistlin, and Tasselhoff. The narration of Chronicles was much better with clearer differences between characters and more consistent pronunciation. If you like Chronicles you’ll want to listen to this!

Wonderful Story. Horrible Narrator

The Chronicles series was narrated wonderfully. This, the first book of The Legends series, is narrated horribly. The inflection and tone is odd and out of context with the story. The words are just being read with no regard for meaning, or situational context. Everything is read in a sing-song manner as if it was some insurance commercial. It doesn't matter if the story has the dead speaking from the grave, fierce battles raging, or a childlike character telling a joke; it's all going to sound the same. The narrator will may it sound like a children's bedtime storybook. Everything is a breath away from being a joke. It will take effort on your part to feel any suspense or gravity in the story. The narrator robs you of it. The annoyance of the narrator prevents immersion in story.

Audible should pick narrators with some type of acting or theater experience as opposed to someone who sounds like their background is hawking nonstick cookware on an infomercial or workplace HR videos.

The *story* is wonderful. All the Dragonlance books are a joy. Its sad that the horrible narration detracts from the story. It's painfully obvious that the narrator has no respect for the book.

Great Book, mediocre reader

This is probably one of my favorite book series of all time, but the reader has no passion in it and comes off as being just a step above a student reading to the class.

Worst narration I've ever heard.

The narration was bland and barely above a monotone reading. Names were mispronounced throughout. I love the Dragonlance stories and I will never, ever listen to this or the other two in this series if read by this person again.

Dreadful Narration

A series I really enjoyed reading as a teenager completely ruined by worst narration I have ever listened to. I have listened to other series that have come alive with narration but not in this case. I hope Ax Norman has another day job.

Why why why?

Why does the narrator purposefully say all the names wrong and in a way that really pisses me off! He says Tasslehoff correctly but the shorter version instead of saying Taz he says Toss. Just terrible

Incredible story, inexcusable narration

The Dragonlance universe is one of the richest fantasy realms out there and every book is an absolute delight. After re-reading the Chronicles books and being blown away by the Audible narrations, I was gut punched by how awful the narration was for this book. The narrator simply read the book in a dry, passionless droning voice that did not hold a candle to the incredible storytelling of the previous narrator. This narrator didn't ever change his voice to reflect the character speaking and constantly mispronounced nearly every proper noun in the book. It greatly diminished my experience.

Poor Narration

A Classic story one of my favorites. The narrator rushed through such great novel. Poor performance for such a fantastic story. I almost did not finish listening because I was so disappointed with the narration.
