Publisher's summary

A lot can change in three months: wars can be decided, nations can be forged... or entire species can be brought to the brink of annihilation. The Morningstar Virus, an incredibly virulent disease, has swept the face of the planet, infecting billions. Its hosts rampage, attacking anything that remains uninfected. Even death can't stop the virus-its victims as cannibalistic shamblers. Scattered across the world, embattled groups have persevered. For some, surviving is the pinnacle of achievement. Others hoard goods and weapons. And still others leverage power over the remnants of humanity in the form of a mysterious cure for Morningstar.

Francis Sherman and Anna Demilio want only a vaccine, but to find it, they must cross a countryside in ruins, dodging not only the infected, but also the lawless living. The bulk of the storm has passed over the world, leaving echoing thunder and softly drifting ashes. But for the survivors, the peril remains, and the search for a cure is just beginning...

Nice sequel

I’m excited to see where the characters go and it becomes clear that they are becoming veteran survivors. They all have skills which help them my concern is that sometimes it could be seen as convenient, leading to many wanted to give favors after a lot of hard work and I think it makes sense but side characters are treating main characters as if they know they are the center of the story. It is not big or excessive just a thought. This is the second book so I recommend anyone who read the first and enjoyed it, this book goes over events from the first and you could still enjoy this if its your first but to fully understand it I would say read the first book. I rated it so highly because I enjoyed it, the ending had a twist which is seen in this genre and I’m excited to see where that goes. For the rest of the book I love laying back and imagining it; definitely something that could be in the cinema with some sequences.

Loved it

Unlike book 1, I found this book exciting. Not that part one was bad, but rather slow. This book was simple fantastic, well written and it kept me on the edge of the chair. It was very easy to follow, even if you don't hear book 1, which I did not finish. You will not make a mistake by listening to this book, you'll feel the blood rush under your skin.

Wow ! Tightly gripping as before.

The character development is amazing and mature.
I was surprised and saddened at Julie's death.
I thought her and Matt would be together.

Morningstar is here.

Excellent. One of the best books and authors of the 20th Century. The characters are believable. It is almost like you are right there with them.

Solid Coninuation in Book 2

This second installment carries forwarrd the story from Book 1 with a solid plot and performances. We see some foreshadowing of how it will all come to a climax. Overall a very good listen for Zombie / Post-Apocalypse fiction fans.

It's the third book where things start to unravel...
