Publisher's summary

The number-one New York Times best-selling author Kelley Armstrong delivers the novel her fans have been clamoring for: The epic finale of the Otherworld series.

It's been more than 10 years, a dozen installments, and hundreds of thousands of copies since Kelley Armstrong introduced readers to the all-too-real denizens of the Otherworld: witches, werewolves, necromancers, vampires, and half-demons, among others. And it's all been leading to Thirteen, the final installment, the novel that brings all of these stories to a stunning conclusion.

A war is brewing - the first battle has been waged and Savannah Levine is left standing, albeit battered and bruised. She has rescued her half-brother from supernatural medical testing, but he's fighting to stay alive. The Supernatural Liberation Movement took him hostage, and they have a maniacal plan to expose the supernatural world to the unknowing.

Savannah has called upon her inner energy to summon spells with frightening strength - a strength she never knew she had - as she fights to keep her world from shattering. But it's more than a matter of supernaturals against one another - both heaven and hell have entered the war; hellhounds, genetically modified werewolves, and all forces of good and evil have joined the fray.

Uniting Savannah with Adam, Paige, Lucas, Jaime, Hope, and other lost-but-not-forgotten characters in one epic battle, Thirteen is a grand, crowd-pleasing closer for Armstrong's legions of fans.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

A wonderful last book for Otherworld

What did you love best about Thirteen?

Ms. Armstrong was really able to create a cohesive ending to the story. Keeping all of the characters intact and letting us hear from multiple 'narrators'.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There are so many good characters it is hard to choose. As a male reader I think that my favorite character is Karl Marsten or Clay. To me Karl has always been something of an enigma and somewhat an antihero. As for Clay, well, he is Clay and Clay is just freaking awesome.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene is where Savannah and Adam meet the prisoner and figure out who he is. I will not say more so I do not spoil it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud on several occasions, but I think the overall feeling of finality really gave a mixture of happy and sad feelings. I mean having read every story I could find for otherworld, you get close to the characters and while you are happy that they have a happy ending, you are sad to know that this is the last book.

Any additional comments?

Read the whole series folks. It is brilliantly done. If Kelley Armstrong reads this review, I just say to her "Well done, a beautiful ending to a magnificent story."

Great Finish For the Series

Where does Thirteen rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among the top 30! This is such a great ending, I was nervous for a while but it was fantastic!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Thirteen?

I don't want to give anything away but it has to do with the Nast Cabal leader!

What does Johanna Parker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Of all the narrators in this series I feel she did the best job. It was hard getting through all the switching. Glad she did the last couple of books!

Any additional comments?

Kelley Armstrong is a wonderful writer. I really enjoyed every book for so many reasons. I now get to enjoy the Men of the Underworld as well as the compilations of short stories. Glad I have some more of this world to listen to!

Lovely end to a series

Kelley Armstrong is an amazing author and this last book in her Women of the Otherworld was fantastic. My only (minor) complaint is that the narrator read Elena’s accent as southern, instead of Canadian. Clay is southern, not Elena. Otherwise, it was wonderful.

Amazing Series

This was a great ending to the 13 book series. Kelly Armstrong is an amazing author and the narrators for all the books did an amazing job. It was like listening to a play. It didn't sound like it was someone reading a book. I would recommend to all my friends who like super natural reading.

Kelley Armstrong is great, narrator- not so much.

Would you be willing to try another one of Johanna Parker’s performances?

Only if she doesn't try to do an accent. Her southern accent was bad as well as her french accent. The southern accent was too many types of southern accents rolled into one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! In spite of the narrator I wanted to keep listening to find out how the series ends.

A great series finale!

Kelley Armstrong is such a tallented writer that it makes it hard not to enjoy any of her books, however I'm so glad Johanna Parker has narated the last three books in this series, most of the other narators in this series were terrible and I had to read the print version. That being said, Thirteen is an exciting read and wrap up to the series, since it involves all the characters of the series in one way or another. The story is told primarily by Savanna, but all the women that made this series have there hand in it. I'm sad to know the series is over, but enjoyed the end of it all the way.
