Publisher's summary

Time is a resource. Everyone knows it has to be managed. On Discworld that is the job of the highly capable Monks of History, who store it and pump it from the places where it's wasted (like underwater - how much time does a codfish need?) to places like cities, where there's never enough time. But the construction of the world's first truly accurate clock starts a race against, well, time, for the monk Lu Tze and his apprentice Lobsang Ludd. For if the perfect clock starts ticking, Time, as we know it, will stop. And then the trouble will really begin.

Subtle, sly, thought-provoking, and hilarious, Thief of Time is Terry Pratchett at his best.

This multi-voice production features Christopher Cazenove, Gabrielle de Cuir, Karesa McElheny, John Rubinstein, and Stefan Rudnicki, with a guest appearance by Harlan Ellison.

Outstanding

The story, like all of Pratchett's Discworld stories, is fantastic - entertaining, complex, and riveting! The full cast lends the story the feel of a stage play. I highly recommend this audio book!

One of my favorites!

This is a very entertaining book! It takes more than one “listen” to pick up on everything there is to pick up on, surface and subtle. I love the characters and their personalities. The readers develop the personalities perfectly. The plot is beyond clever and intriguing. I’m so glad I have the book to listen to again in the future.

Very good

Pretty good, it's just that it's narrated by a few different people so it's kinda con confusing at first but you get used to it😜

A step back

Terry Pratchett’s story keeps bringing me back, but Stephen Briggs’ performance was Pratchett’s voice. This new version lacks continuity and the life that Briggs consistently bright to each performance. Briggs loved Pratchett’s work. This cast seems to be merely doing a job.

I wish I could have Briggs back.

Great story, terrible narration

I’m a Pratchett fan and have listened to over half of his novels on Audible. This is one of the worst narrations of any book (pratchett or otherwise), by a long shot. I bought it when it was the only option and couldn’t get through it. The narrators voice was grating and then she gave Githa Ogg an American southern accent. I’m from the US but it was awful. Couldn’t stomach it.

I’ve just purchased the new narration and it’s so much better!

Awkward Narration

The transition between narrators was a bit jarring each time. In my opinion, the producer made poor choices about how to make use of the three available narrators.

voices are alright

voices could be overwhelming at times, but it was a unique experience for sure. I really loves the story and it explained a whole lot for the universe. Always remember rule 1

Great book. Odd reading.

I enjoy the story. Any story by Terry Pratchett is a good story. The reading of this one, takes stone getting used to though.
