Drawing from reams of historical data, laboratory experiments, field research, and eyewitness accounts, this comprehensive guide is the only book you'll need to face the greatest challenge mankind has ever encountered. Granted, you probably already know that skills such as wilderness survival, leadership, and basic first aid are important when fighting off hordes of the undead.
But The Zombie Survival Guide doesn't stop there, teaching you how to: Identify cases of infection by the zombie virus, Solanum, and recognize the hourly progression of symptoms: 'Hour 8: Numbing of Extremities and Infected Area, Increased Fever [103-106 Degrees], Increased Dementia, Loss of Muscular Coordination'; choose the right weapon: 'A Section of Lead Pipe Will Work for a Single Encounter but Is Too Heavy for Those on the Move'; defend your home: 'A Ten-Foot Cinder-Block Wall, Reinforced with Steel Rods and Filled with Concrete, Is the Safest Barrier in Both Class 1 and Class 2 Outbreaks'; and much more.
The Zombie Survival Guide is the only guide you will need to survive a most certain pandemic.
"Ignorance is the undead's strongest ally, knowledge their deadliest enemy," Brooks writes. "Personal choice, the will to live, must be paramount when the dead begin to rise. The choice is up to you."

Could it happen?
Yes. The "documented cases" at the end is the best part.
His reading is very good.
When you need to run from walkers.
Although I enjoyed this book I found parts of it repetitive. Throughout the novel the author says things such as... "As previously discussed earlier..." Still... It's a fun ride.
"Almost too believable"
Max Brooks writes this guide in a straight a fashion as could ever be imagined. He give credibility to the possibility of a zombie virus and offers practical advice on how to deal with it.
It is so well thought out and described in intimate detail that you cannot help but be chilled to the bone.
A wonderful piece of fiction...or is it?
It's a good book and very well written and performed. I have in joyed this book and world war z.
I liked that it's believable but it dragged.
None. It more of an instruction manual.
I didn't get on with the narrators voice at all.
Not as good as the print version as in my opinion the narration spoilt it. But don't let that put you off.
"Good, but overhyped."
I enjoyed this book its an interesting read, but not work the buzz that has surrounded it. Still if you're a fan of zombie books its a must read.
"Second of my audiobook collection! Great book!"
The topic is dry but Max Books was able to write a great piece of zombie story.
"Its an amazing book"
amazing, logical, interesting
It is a book you can read in public with out looking like a conspiracist but secretly helps you build you zombie survival plan!
Anyone... i personally don't like his voice. I do think Stephen Fry would sound great reading this book!!!
i really recommend reading it and anyone how thinks it might be scary its not because it give you all the weaknesses and strengths you need to know if this did ever happen. its just really fun to read.
"Why is this in the comedy section?"
I was in a little bit of a hurry and wanted something amusing to entertain us on a long drive to Cornwall. Seeing this in the comedy section, I thought it might at least make us a laugh a little. Perhaps in the vein of Shaun of the Dead. Instead it's about as funny as a Star Trek Technical Manual (if you are unsure what that actually is, the title is all you need to really know).
This would be better in the horror fiction section perhaps.
"Interesting but outlasts its welcome."
I do not think there was any problem with the narration, it is just that the book is more like reading an instruction manual and can be very dry going at points.
Inter spliced some of the 'after action reports' within the instruction section of the book.
No problem with the performance, it was more likely the nature of the book that does not work as well as a traditional work of fiction when it comes to enjoying an audiobook.
I can't imagine how this would work, but if they did I would see it out of interest.
Interesting and has many 'wow I didn't think of that' moments. However, the entire book is just a little dry and emotionless to be a truly enjoyable listen.
In the top 10 of my audible purchases
The matter of fact manner in which the rules to your survival are delivered. The level of 'research' into the actions you must take to prolong your existence are a constant amusement
I found that I could not finish the book, I found it very bland and senseless, but I had expected so, it is a Guide after all: no story, no new or interesting concepts, just a guide.
Narration is also average.
