Two thieves want answers. Riyria is born.

For more than a year, Royce Melborn has tried to forget Gwen DeLancy, the woman who saved him and his partner, Hadrian Blackwater, from certain death. Unable to get her out of his mind, the two thieves return to Medford but receive a very different reception - Gwen refuses to see them. The victim of abuse by a powerful noble, she suspects that Royce will ignore any danger in his desire for revenge. By turning the thieves away, Gwen hopes to once more protect them. What she doesn't realize is what the two are capable of - but she's about to find out.

I love this series

Like most of the series that I'm hooked on, it all started with a reduced price/buy one get one free from Audible. Which originally I was thankful for the financial break. But, then my addiction started with The Riyria Chronicles. You've always heard, "the first one is always free", famous last words for addictions.

I love how Michael Sullivan develops his main characters and his other-not-main characters. I've rooted for the downtrodden good guys/gals every single time. I thought I wouldn't like a series on thieves. Boy, was I ever wrong. It's not really about thievery, it's more about making things right. On to the next book in the series, thanks Audible (not) for my newest addiction.

Exciting

I wish I had listened to the chronicles before the revelations. I think it would have been an amazing way to learn and adventure with Riyira.

Can't get Enough

From the very first I was enthralled. What we have in the Riyria series is a storyteller that delights. His tales are of a world much like ours featuring wars, greed, extortion but also love and undying friendship. Oh and a bit of magic and a great narration to top it all off. There is always a catch to keep you just waiting for the next installment. You won't be disappointed.

absoulely love the backstory. I don't want to say anything and spoil the rest of the series for anyone starting at this point. I'll just say you won't be disappointed.

Exemplary Performance

The book series is excellent, but performance takes things to a different level of excellence.

Great story and narrator

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I love getting the back story of Royce & Gwen. Is it bad of me that I'm happy Royce got vengeance for Gwen? Royce and Hadrian are a great pair, opposites in a good way. I like the way humor is mixed in with action. Great Story! Sometime I'm going to try to count how many voices Tim Reynolds can do. I forget that I'm listening to the same person -- amazing.

Fantasy … kind of

I love the story but there is only reference to fantasy elements here and no actual fantasy in the story. Great read for the story but it does not have the ‘fantasy’ element you may expect from the genre.
