This is the destiny of those who stand for others. Their honor will be bought in blood and pain. The Camp Ryder Hub is broken. Lee is nowhere to be found, and his allies are scattered across the state, each of them learning that their missions will not be as easy as they thought. Inside the walls of Camp Ryder, a silent war is brewing, between those few that still support Lee's vision of rebuilding, and the majority that support Jerry's desire for isolation. But this war will not remain silent for long. And in this savage world, everyone will have to make a choice. To keep their morals. Or keep their lives.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series and can't wait for the next installment. Christian Rummel is a wonderful auditor and gives the characters their own tones and personalities!!!!!! The character's are given depth and you will find yourself cheering some (LEE!!!!!!) and cursing others (JERRY!!!!!). Have listened to this four book series several times......can't get enough....need more REMAINING!!!!!!!
Mother of teenaged bear, Wife to chaos, Warrior
I never really listen to books more than once but this series I would make an exception
I like Lerouge I find him and Lee Harper very human
I found I was sneaking away just to listen. Sitting in the parked car just a little longer to listen. This whole series was nothing short of spectacular!
This would be my favorite zombie series if it weren't for the Followers being religious nutters. Frankly, humanists would have been a better choice considering that that worldview, when lived out to its fullest potential, creates psychopaths. Now that would be refreshing. Alas...
Still, I gasped twice...out loud. Very rare for me. Excellent story-telling, excellent narrator. Looking forward to the next...
Love my family....along with guitars, cameras, and a good book!
For some reason, I thought that this book would finish this series. I guess because there are no more books available through Audible. That, however, is not the case. This is a very good installment in the series, but in no way does this book give any closure! I love the main characters in this series, and they are faced with many struggles in this book. Not a lot of happy here. Not a lot of vindication. Hopefully that will come in future installments! If you have liked this series so far, you will also like this book. Great narration, too!
The story line stays right on track, you never get lost.
When Lee got shot.
When Lee pulled the knife from Jerry's neck.
Laughed as the bad guys got what they deserved
Love the series!
Obviously, CPT Harden. He is now my all time favorite protagonist. Of ALL time. And I've gotta say, Harper turned out to be quite the BAMF.
First time I've heard Christian Rummel. But he's a great narrator.
Yes. I shat myself
Please hurry up with Book 5!
love to listen
The first books were great but the last got kinda weak. Almost like not the author writing it. I can tell good wrting when I read it but sure as heck can't tell you why its good.
University administrator. Commuter cyclist. Dad, husband. Loves books of course. Aspiring Jedi Knight and Warder.
I'll be brief. This is your standard Zombie Apocalypse. If your into the genre, it's all predictable and to the author's credit he does make some efforts to make his nightmare different from the rest. I enjoyed his writing style and he had a pretty good grasp on the technical stuff that goes with being a survivalist.
But and there's a pretty big but.... the main protagonist is insufferable. He's a special forces guy who's been trained for the end of the world. Within the first 100 pages, he establishes himself as perhaps the stupidest public servant. Ever. Decision after decision is a head slapper and this in effect ruins the book. Because this is a series, I couldn't see myself bearing the main character's jackassery for more than one volume. The dude gives the Army Rangers a bad name.
In any event, if you can look past Ranger Rick and his stupidity, then the story is a decent one. Perhaps in future volumes he'll get wise. I won't get to find out.
I started The Remaining series with the first book and it was great! The story line is unique and interesting, more to it than blasting zombies and running. The narration is spot on and adds to the story. BUT.....The first book ends abruptly, almost in the middle of a sentence with very little wrapped up. The second book was good also but the same ending. Very little is resolved in the second book, and so on with the third book, and finally we get to this the fourth book. I was looking forward to an ending and some resolution and finality. Some issues are resolved and some characters finally get what you have been waiting for in the previous 3 books and just when you think there is going to be some resolution....the book stops. It doesn't end, IT STOPS!! Awaiting installment #5, and another $15 credit to purchase. The story looks like its going to take off in a different but larger scale with no end in sight. It is starting to look like a zombie soap opera with the romance replaced by political and military wrangling to start another section of never ending zombism, military inaction and political gridlock. So looking back over my last 6 weeks of listening to this "book", I have spend 4 credits and the story is still going on and book #5 isn't out yet. I am done! 4 credits for one story and the story is still plodding along. You have had enough of my credits for this story. Approximately $60 in credits and the story has no end in sight!! Come on.....8 hrs, 11 hrs, 14 hrs, 19 hrs.....and on and on and on....I have listened to many series but each series has books that can stand alone, but its good to get the back story. Not with this series, no book can stand alone, there is very little resolution to any book and it just starts to plod along and plod along...
