Drizzt returns to Luskan, and the Realms will never be the same!

The Arcane Brotherhood has long held the city of Luskan in their power, but when corruption eats away at their ranks, Captain Deudermont comes to the rescue of a city that has become a safe haven for the Sword Coast's most dangerous pirates. But rescuing a city from itself may not be as easy as Deudermont thinks, and when Drizzt can't talk him out of it, he'll be forced to help.

Drizzt is back in action again, and bringing more changes to the Forgotten Realms setting. This all new hardcover adventure will keep Drizzt fans guessing the whole way, with edge-of-your-seat action and plot twists that even the most casual listener of the Forgotten Realms novel line can't afford to miss.

Another Engaging Drizzt Novel

Another great addition to the Drizzt series. Drizzt reunites with Regis, Wolfgar, Captain Deutermont, and others. It is a great read.

A Tale with a Bittersweet End

The story itself covers the events in Luskan a few years before the Spellplague where the government was radically changed in that City. While mostly following Drizzt and Regis, you will also discover more news of Wulfgar and the other Companions. Deudermont fans will rejoice in seeing the famed Captain of Sea Sprite return in this thrilling ride. As always I enjoyed the story immensely. For those who are unsure of the narrator, I listened to Mark narrate The Magicians Trilogy and absolutely fell in love with his voice and style. Here it seems he was thrown in Victor's place without guidance on pronunciation use in the past narrations, but except for those few missteps Mark does fantastic at giving the characters his own interpretation of voice and tone. I'll admit I like Victor's Drizzt better, but Mark does a good job here and much better than the other narrator who stood in for Victor in Road of the Patriarch.

The Captain was never a good character

it was pretty good overall. definetly alot of political stuff to work through which is boring... idk why people are so upset over the Captain duedermont stuff... he kinda sucks throughout the stories... never consistent.. was glad to see him gone and the wizard robulard live! sorry for any misspelling.

The Sad Story of Luskan

Interesting story but is very sad. It lays human nature bare for all to see. Old characters make appearances.

Great continuation of Drizzt Do’Urden story

Robert Salvatore continues to impress. I stopped reading the legend of Drizzt many years ago with the Orc King and decided to give it another chance this year. The Pirate King presents an amazing and intense adventure that keeps you want to read greedily grasping the details that uncover the forgotten realms more and more

Still So Great

I'm still getting used to the new voices for old characters, but I enjoyed this so very much, nonetheless. New baddies, old friends, great storytelling, and wonderful writing. Very worth your time.

Good story okay reading

They mispronounced half the names of everything but it is tolerable. The story itself is amazing and the reader does a good job with the voices

Great men make bad decisions

For years those of us who have followed this series have enjoyed learning all about various characters that come and go. It’s always to good to hear about them after some time. Here we meet Captain Deudermont being pushed to help liberate a town from a tyrant. Yet, is this the correct move?

We see the beginning of the undoing of magic in this story, but no one see’s it for what it really is at this point in time. This causes lots of grief for Regis as he doesn’t realise what he’s seeing! We see him struggle with so much in this story and how will this impact him in future stories.

We see Drizzt applying the knowledge he learned from the two moon wood elves, but is he really ready for all those lessons? I really did like this story for all the points here without posting any spoilers. I would like to see the narrator replaced and and someone else re-record this story line.

R.A. Salvatore delivers again!

Another great addition to the series. I'm still a bit iffy on Mark's performance, but I'm also pretty accustomed to the guy that read the first several books.
