Publisher's summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

Critic reviews

"The Wheel of Time...is a fantasy tale seldom equaled and still less often surpassed in English." ( Chicago Sun-Times)
"Jordan has a powerful vision of good and evil - but what strikes me as most pleasurable...is all the fascinating people moving through a rich and interesting world." (Orson Scott Card on The Wheel of Time)

AWESOME

The whole series is just Awesome. No series I have read so far are so complete in the minds eye. You picture yourself beside each character as if you were there and see the surroundings and absorb the feelings that at times can be very deep. This series will stay with the reader a very long time and it's all very good. Brandon Sanderson did a masterful job of completing this series. I don't think any one else could have finished this so wonderfully.

excellent no need to worry about new author

I was worried about Brandon not making the book feel like a Robert Jordan novel and it is true you can detect the change in writing style however I feel the story has been done correctly. I am excited to listen to the next book, and see how the story develops.

Fantastic!

I firts was hooked on the wheel of time series in highschool. The first book started slow and it took me a month to get to page 62. Once there,, I devoured the book. I decided to start listening to it, and it's still as great as ever!

Good Recording, Gigantic Book

All of Robert Jordan's books are huge. Without the audiobooks, I never would've gotten through the series. They're reminiscent of Lord of the Rings but with way more words. The story's pretty good, just really, really long-- 12 books all from 700-1000 pages each! Literally could not have gotten through these stories without the audiobooks. The recording's good, too. The two readers do a good job.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Oh yes. I would recommend the whole Wheel of Time series.

What about Michael Kramer and Kate Reading ’s performance did you like?

Their voices are so smooth and amazing. They actually PERFORM the book, not just read it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Of course!

Any additional comments?

Anyone who hasn't read the Wheel of Time series is missing out on a masterpiece from a fantastic writer/s.

A Torch Well Passed

Sanderson continues the legacy of Robert Jordan while adding his own flair to the storytelling. His love for the characters and world of The Wheel of Time shows through as he works in exposition and expands the story. His added sprinkling of comic relief adds to the fun and helps draw the reader, or listener, in.

As always the reading performances by Michael Kramer and Kate Reading are second to none in the world of audio books. Each making the characters so distinct they can be determined even without the text identifying the speaker.

For the Love of the Light, listen to the series in order, I don't why anyone would jump into book 12 of 14 anyway.
