In The Dragon Reborn, the third novel in Robert Jordan’s number one New York Times best-selling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, Rand al’Thor undertakes a journey to prove himself worthy of being the Champion of Light.

Winter has stopped the war - almost - yet men are dying, calling out for the Dragon. But where is he?

Rand al’Thor has been proclaimed the Dragon Reborn. Traveling to the great fortress known as the Stone of Tear, he plans to find the sword Callandor, which can only be wielded by the Champion of Light, and discover if he truly is destined to battle The Dark One. Following Rand, Moiraine and their friends battle Darkhounds on the hunt, hoping they reach the Heart of the Stone in time for the next great test awaiting the Dragon Reborn.

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant number one New York Times best sellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

Not as great as Great Hunt and slow

This one was short and slow. I guess consequences of the Great Hunt caused the slow start and ramping on to a new quest took half the book. Egwen, Elaine and Nayneve get a lot of facetime in this book and hardly any Rand. Perrin and Matt have started to become one of my favorites.

The narrators are really holding on to the characters from one book to another. They have been consistent with every character unlike other series where narrators adapt different voices over few books. I'm also glad they will be narrating until AMoL.

I wished I would have read Jordan's WoT when I was a kid. But its never too late and I know what to recommend my kid. Great series to keep listening and if you love it, there are 14 books. So enjoy.

Superb Story

This is a great prelude of things to come. This is probably the 4th time I've been through this series (haven't been able to get past Book 11) but by using audio books I believe that 5th time will be the the charm. The narratives by Michael and K ate bring the characters to life. Well spoken and produced. Bravo.

a bit slower, but still great.

I want to see more from Rand as he was a character who didn't get a lot POV in this book, but the side characters are great including the expansion of Elaine and Matt. hopefully they continue to focus on fleshing out some of these side characters

this has been a phenomenal recap, last time I went through this I was 10 years ago. I'm finding that I enjoy this quite a bit more the second time around Excellence book for children and for interest of the adults.

pretty good

The WOT series is a classic, and one of my favorites. Ive been greatly enjoying the audio version, especially with the dual narrators. My only complaint is that sometimes the woman (Kate Reading) sounds like she's never tried pronouncing some of the words/names before they recorded her. Also, her and Michael Kramer sometimes pronounce things slightly different.

Excellent continuation

A good continuation of the previous books that keeps you on the edge of your seat. There are multiple converging storylines for each of the major characters that are going their own way, and fortunately the author has firm directions for each so you aren't left wondering where the individual stories are going.

In this book, Rand takes a bit of a backseat to allow the further development of the other characters that were painted more shallowly in previous books. But all have pleasing battles. It was also good to have Matt become a stronger person and less annoying.

This book is also excellent value for money when you look at the $/hour basis and especially when you look at the list price.
