Publisher's summary

The number one New York Times best-selling series finale and sequel to A Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night.

Look for the hit TV series A Discovery of Witches, streaming on AMC Plus, Sundance Now, and Shudder.

Bringing the magic and suspense of the All Souls Trilogy to a deeply satisfying conclusion, this highly anticipated finale went straight to number one on the New York Times best seller list. In The Book of Life, Diana and Matthew time-travel back from Elizabethan London to make a dramatic return to the present - facing new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home, Sept-Tours, they reunite with the beloved cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches - with one significant exception. But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole 782 and its missing pages takes on even more urgency.

A wonderful story

The reviews on this book, wow. The negative ones were totally unexpected. I truly enjoyed the final installment in this series. While I agree it felt a bit rushed toward the end, I feel like people need to understand that of course we'll also want more detail on the things/ characters that interested us most in the series..but not every plot point is going to be flushed out and every magical mystical thing mentioned (ie Cora and where she went) needs to be explained. This is not a book about showy displays of magic. It's more of a romance/ coming to age 30 yr Olds style tale of finding yourself, facing your fears, owning up to past mistakes and past pain but not living there, love, loss, family etc. I enjoyed it for what it was and not what I wished it to be. That being said i want a series of Diana as an adult witch raising vampitch babies and being a bad ass on the congregation and for gallowglass to find love.

Good Trilogy

Although the series is reminiscent of the Twilight Saga here and there, it bloomed into a story of its own. I enjoyed the easy read and yes it was pretty hard to put down. I would give 5 stars across the board if the narrator was able to do the male voices.
