What the Critics Say

“Epic fantasy at its best . . . I was hooked in from the first page and couldn't put it down, even at the last. It is, quite frankly, superb.” (Sci-Fi London)

“Weeks manages to ring new tunes on...old bells, letting a deep background slowly reveal its secrets and presenting his characters in a realistically flawed and human way.” (Publishers Weekly)

“Weeks has written an epic fantasy unlike any of its contemporaries. It is a truly visionary and original work, and has set the bar high for others in its subgenre.” (graspingforthewind.com)

Would you consider the audio edition of The Blinding Knife to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print edition, but the audio book production is fantastic.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters are what makes the is book. I love them all to bits even the bad guys are great. I can't wait for the next instalment in the series!

"Much better than the last one..."
Would you consider the audio edition of The Blinding Knife to be better than the print version?

I read the first instalment of this series and found it to be poorly edited, with whole paragraphs requiring modification. I don't know what the printed copy of this latest book is like, but I certainly didn't find the same level of ineptitude here with the audio version.

What other book might you compare The Blinding Knife to, and why?

Standard fantasy fare with creative strengths in the same grouping as Feist.

What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?

A touch too melodramatic for me, with many characters all sounding like they smoke and drink too much, but Andross Guile sounded great.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, though I did finish it fairly quickly.

    Any additional comments?

Fairly solid offering for fantasy buffs,

    "Very entertaining"

This book is very entertaining and I could not stop until I had read the whole book. I loved the mix of characters and the plot of the book. You can listen to the book whilst basking in the sun in the park or whilst taking a walk. Absolutely beautiful.
