Publisher's summary

This holiday season, join two of today’s most popular paranormal authors for a special look into their worlds, where creatures are always stirring and no one sleeps through the night.... The Bite Before Christmas

The Gift by Lynsay Sands: Teddy Brunswick knows about the immortals among us. He’s worked with them, called them friend - but he never counted on being snowed in with one over Christmas. Katricia Argeneau is a tasty little bundle and she seems to feel the same way about him. Problem is, he’s not sure she feels quite the same way. After all, the snowstorm has derailed her blood delivery, which leaves him the only available meal on the menu....

Home for the Holidays by Jeaniene Frost: Cat and Bones are looking forward to a normal holiday - at least as “normal” as it gets for the combustible vampire couple and their otherworldly friends and family. But their yuletide plans are shattered when a stranger shows up and reveals long-buried family secrets that threaten to take a bite out of their holiday cheer... and lives.

Jeaniens Frost's story are lovely and sweet. somehow can't bring myself to finish the Lysay Sands's story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cat and Bones of course, it is really nice to read through the night huntress series to see the development of their love relationship, not just happily ever after, somehow make it all felt more connected, realistic and grounded ( ye i know this is in the world of vampires. ) i have to say i am so sick of fair tale love story now,

Which character – as performed by Paula Christensen and Tavia Gilbert – was your favorite?

have to say i am not very fond of performance of Ms Christensen.

Weird but then GREAT!!!!

I don't understand why reviewers here hated the first book in this 2 books in one book .
The first book was ok, i kinda liked it, it wasn't a great book, but not a bad one as well, if i had to describe it with one word it will be "Weird" as it was weird .... vamps who are not vamps and so on... it was weird but not bad.. have a listen to it.

But the 2nd book was good.. i liked how it had a good start and the whole book soo goooood . And the most amazing thing in it was the alliance between Cat and...... well can't say who, you have to read it to know.

But if you are a fan of Cat and Bones, then YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS ONE.

Cheers and Enjoy.

P.S. i am giving 5 start for the 2nd book, the first one i'll give it 3 starts.

Short but sweet.

A treat for Jeaniene Frost fans. But don't expect the depth of her regular books.

Jeanine Frost!! Bones!! Cat!!

Where does The Bite Before Christmas rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

A whole was missing in the saga of Cat and Bones. This was a great surprise. Great story!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cat and Bones!!
The story involving Bones brother was a great addition to the ongoing saga!

What does Paula Christensen and Tavia Gilbert bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Tavia should be doing so many other books. There are some good books that need her.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! I really didn't give the first segment a chance. I will listen to it later. I couldn't wait to hear Tavia do the Cat and Bones segment.

Any additional comments?

This is a must for knowing all the pieces of the puzzle. It was like an unexpected treasure!

Alright - You hooked me.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Bite Before Christmas to be better than the print version?

No - but one thing I like about print versions is the occasional preview of coming attractions, inclusion of authors notes, etc. - once audio catches onto that trend . . .

Who was your favorite character and why?

Teddy Brunswick - from The Gift. He's a good man trying to do the right thing - it's about time he got a cosmic reward for all that. in Home For the Holidays (a series I han't read antything about before) - It was Crispin/Bones - I was intrugued enough by this that I am going after the rest of the Night-Huntress series - as time and circum$tance$ permit (sigh)

Which character ??? as performed by Paula Christensen and Tavia Gilbert ??? was your favorite?

See above.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not out loud - buy Ms. Sands books USUALLY make me laugh, it's one of the reasons I have the print versions of every novel she's written so far.

Any additional comments?

I'll let you know more about Ms. Frost's work once I get a bit more into it . . .

One out of two books were good

I gave this three stars across the board because one story was excellent and one wasn't.

The Gift
I haven't read anything else by Lynsay Sands, so I'm not familiar with her stuff. There seemed to be some interesting premises, and maybe some of her other books from this series would be good but I just couldn't get past the creepy old dude lusting after a young woman. Not the mental picture I want painted for me. And referring to his genitals as "little teddy?" Ick. Can't forget this book soon enough.

Home for the Holidays
Had this been the only book this download would have received five stars across the board. Jeaniene Frost continues to do an excellent job with the Night Huntress series and Tavia Gilbert does a great job with the narration. As always, it left me wanting more.

The download is worth it for Home for the Holidays. Just don't feel bad about skipping The Gift. I wish I had.

Home for the Holidays = 5 stars; The Gift = 1 star

Sands’ novel was plodding & sophomoric (“little Teddy”?? Oh barf) & the narration was painful. 60+ year old “Teddy” sounded like a leprechaun. I wish I’d skipped it but kept hoping it would improve. It doesn’t.

Frost’s novel was MUCH more than I expected from a short story: fast paced, full of action, familiar characters, and moved the series forward. Excellent narration, as usual. (Though I still can’t stand Bones’ nasally high pitched voice. He should sound deeper/ more MANLY!!)

Enjoyed Jeaniene’s story more than Sands

Hated, hated , hated the narrator’s voice for mmc in Sand’s story. As usual Tavia was outstanding. Sand was so so, Frost’s was great
