Interesting concept

Liked the narrator and how he pulled the characters to life. The story line is good, nice to see the humans as the underdog. I'll read a few more in the series before final vote is cast.

GREAT Story!!! This is Episode 1. Do them all in order! 😱

5 stars is great!
_________________________________________________- I really like this series of about 13 short stories that are vignettes of "The Human Division" by John Scalzi. I rarely give 5-stars but most of these are I that category. I wish I could write like this . . . .The man is gifted. 😱

Terrific narration brings short story to life!

I would highly recommend this small novella to all science fiction lovers as one of the better short space odysseys a available for purchase. The narration by William Drufus stood out especially, bringing the diverse set of characters to life and imbuing each with their own unique speech and personality. The story itself may leave minimal pieces hanging -the only downside-, but it immerses the listener throughout the story from beginning to end at an exciting pace while using the perspectives of each relatable character to propel the plot forward. I found my experience enjoyable and I highly recommend the story, the author, and especially the engaging narrator for anyone who may be interested in enjoying a solid thrilling science fiction novella.

Decent series, but overpriced

I'm going to review the entire series here, not just this one "book". Look carefully; most of them are only half an hour long.

They aren't structured so much as chapters of a book, but as semi-independent short stories, some of which use recurring characters, and that occur in more or less chronological order. Scalzi clearly wanted to experiment with different kinsd of stories and narrative structure. One is told in a really annoying transcript format. Some tell stories from characters other than the main group. There are few strong links or building plot structures across the stories. It does build to some excitement in the last one, but there is no real resolution or ending - Scalzi could easily add a new episode tomorrow if he wanted.

This would be an AMAZING podcast, but as a series of independent books, I'm dubious. There is no reason why they shouldn't be pulled together into one book representing a collection of the short stories. That would be a decent length, and worth the price.

I did enjoy the series overall, but just make sure you know what you're getting into. I didn't pay close attention and had simply assumed I was getting a large collection of full Scalzi novels.

THE B TEAM, By John Scalzi

Grabbed my interest from the start. Found it to be very interesting, Sci-Fi at its best. Filled with twists, turns, and plenty of thrills. A typical John Scalzi book! However, like many novellas, I would have liked it very much if it had been longer. An EXCELLENT Resd! -R.Wood

Sci fi at its best

John Scalzi does it again with the Humane Division putting us back into the universe of The Old Man's War with a cast of characters that we can emphasize with and root for. Total Sci fi bliss.
