Publisher's summary

From number one New York Times best-selling author Brandon Sanderson, the Mistborn series is a heist story of political intrigue and magical martial-arts action.

Three hundred years after the events of the Mistborn trilogy, Scadrial is now on the verge of modernity, with railroads to supplement the canals, electric lighting in the streets and the homes of the wealthy, and the first steel-framed skyscrapers racing for the clouds. Kelsier, Vin, Elend, Sazed, Spook, and the rest are now part of history - or religion.

Yet even as science and technology are reaching new heights, the old magics of Allomancy and Feruchemy continue to play a role in this reborn world. Out in the frontier lands known as the Roughs, they are crucial tools for the brave men and women attempting to establish order and justice. One such is Waxillium Ladrian, a rare Twinborn, who can Push on metals with his Allomancy and use Feruchemy to become lighter or heavier at will.

After 20 years in the Roughs, Wax has been forced by family tragedy to return to the metropolis of Elendel. Now he must reluctantly put away his guns and assume the duties and dignity incumbent upon the head of a noble house. Or so he thinks, until he learns the hard way that the mansions and elegant tree-lined streets of the city can be even more dangerous than the dusty plains of the Roughs.

A little slower than most of Brandon Sanderson’s books but still good

This is a little slower and different than the other books I’ve read by Brandon Sanderson, but it’s still good. Essentially a western train robbery story, but my mind was blown with the epilogue and how it ties into the Cosmere.

another brandon sanderson hit

excellent writing and narration. Brandon Sanderson is funny and engaging as an author and I appreciate that he tries hard to write women in a way that is authentic and with depth and without oversexualization as the only descriptive element. highly recommend anything by Brandon Sanderson and narrated by Michael kramer. both really fantastic artists.

Another Great Story

Wonderful continuation of the book series I’ve grown to love. I was skeptical that it could be as good as the first three, but it was a fantastic transition and a great story. It took me a few chapters to get pulled in, but after that I was wrapped up. I definitely recommend

Wished it was longer!

I avoided getting this one for a long while, it's no where near as long as the others before it. The previous books had an actual end and could have been enough, but I love this expansion to the world.

Was more of an into for a new series

Basically a new book in the same "world" as the first 3 Mistoborn books. Takes place several generations from last one. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

Great Book! Fast, Quick Paced, Different From Normal Sanderson, Yet Still An A+ Read — Refreshing

Think Fantasy + Jack Reacher ÷ The Gunslinger × Classic Sanderson Mistborn Style Book, but ≠ or ≥ Era 1 (take your pick — they’re both excellent reading)

If you got confused with that — I sure did… — just know: If you liked Mistborn Era 1 — you’ll love this as well.
P. S. Even if you’ve never read a single Cosmere (Sanderson’s made up universe that actually ties all the books together in a small, not yet complete, way) book, you’ll still love this book.
Definitely the fastest paste book I’ve read by him as of yet.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Satisfying

Really didn’t wand the mistborn series to end! This is a fun different storyline and I’ve quite enjoyed it! Really wish that he would write a few out at least one book on Spook becoming the great leader and mistborn aster the first three it would be awesome! But non the less great book indeed!

I don’t understand the negative reviews

I think this book is just as good as mistborn, but in a different way. I love the characters and their development, the humor, the plot, the nuances to the mistborn world, everything.
Also, Michael Kramer is fire as always.

Solid book, nice story

Great story to it, my only complaints are that some plot twists can be seen a mile away, and that some stuff just blatantly isn't explained. I'm not sure if theyll be explained further into this trilogy, but it is kind of frustrating to want to know about something and not get the answer by the end of the book.

It's Sanderson. It's going to be good.

Love it, Love Wayne. Though, Wax's determination to be miserable can be annoying (much like Kaladin from Sanderson's Stormlight books).
Michael Kramer, the narrator, amazing as always.
