Seeing the present seven decades past.

Lewis melds legend and fantasy to oppose the moral apostasy of progressivism and it’s lust for power. Both are ultimately under the sway of forces outside our corporeal world. The proof of his view, whether or not you accept supernatural attribution, is that much of what he said the bad guys did is the same thing philosophical adherents attempt and do now. Prescient, deep and satisfying. I’ve been reading this book from time to time for fifty years and it gets more spot on each reading. The narration was outstanding.

This is nonfiction

A fantastic read! Lewis was prescient in his understanding of the human condition. Over 75 years ago he captured the essence of our culture wars now raging in 2023.

Delightful

Wonderful final story to the space trilogy, but can stand alone as a novel. The story can help but bring to mind the 2020 progressive lockdowns.

The reader was delightful and had unique voices for each character helping to follow dialogue.

Definitely recommend this book!

Truly ahead of its time

One of the best stories and series I have ever read. I am biased because he’s one of my favorite authors but when I heard he wrote a space trilogy I jumped at the opportunity, I have since read it twice once in print and one on audio obviously. My only regret is that he didn’t write more of these types of stories.
