Publisher's summary

Book Four of The Sword of Truth, the series first begun in Wizard's First Rule, returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for 3,000 years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

Epic edge: listen to more in the Sword of Truth series.

Great story

As always Terry Goodkind can write a wonderful book. My only complaint is the narrator. As a whole he done good. Great voice. But he changed the pronunciation of some of the names. Was very annoying to have listened to three books before that pronounced one way and he another.

great story poor narration

the narrator needs to learn how to pronounce major character names before he reads an entire book.

I hate the quality of the narrator

When purchasing audio books one hopes a series of books would narrated by the same person. In the absence of that it would be equally if the narrator would prepare to narrate the book by perhaps listening to at least a little of the prior books. But no he goes forward by pronouncing established characters names wrong or correct, who knows now? I hate that! Why Terry Goodkind wouldn't prep a narrator or at least check their work a little. I guess it's not about quality, just cash.

Great book!!!

Great story and book. The narrator not being able to pronounce key characters names through out the book is most infuriating. I almost stopped listening on several occasions because of this act. Having a different narrator for different volumes of the same series is terrible!

Great book, Great performance

Yet another magnificent work from Goodkind! I have listened to the first four titles, and so far this is by far the most outstanding narrator.

Narrator Pronunciation Error Distraction

Overall, I thought the narrator did a good job. I found the wrong pronunciation of Kahlan's name throughout the book rather distracting.

ok narrator. name pronunciation mistake

of all the names to to get wrong, Kahlan shouldn't be one. you'd think there would be some coordination from brilliance audio. once you can get used to how the narrator says it and stop thinking who is that, he does a fairly good job.

good book

a good story, but rather slow in progress. it still held to the values and storyline, but much of the story was the sickness... you can learn nothing from illness. the narrator did a great job, but I was disoriented by the pronunciation differences in names from the last narrator.

The person voice acting these books is awful

It would have been nice if like other series I've listened to that they would have the same reader for all of the books. Or short of that, that the voice actor would do his homework. It took me way too long to figure out who this Colin person was before I realized the reader was pronouncing Kahlin differently than all or the others previously.
