Publisher's summary

Book Four of The Sword of Truth, the series first begun in Wizard's First Rule, returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for 3,000 years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

The Story is the Saving Grace of this Audiobook

Would be 5 stars if not for the mispronounciation of Kahlan's name. While I have enjoyed other narrations by Dick Hill, the mispronounciation of Kahlan's name was confusing at the beginning (since I didn't know who Colin was) and bugged me for the entire 28 hours and 58 minutes. The story was a little slow at parts, but it picked up and had me at the edge of my seat near the end.

Narrator

I think the narrator is the best of the ones so far for this series. The only thing different is I think he pronounced Kahlan wrong but to me that’s a small price to pay for good narration.

best narrator so far

I've seen reviews that complain alot about Dick Hills narration of this book. and that's only because he pronounces Kahlans name differently then the other. okay, fine, but in my ears, that's the ONLY problem with his job. He brings ALOT more acting, so much feeling and personality to each different character in the book. He's not just reading words words from a page. If I could chose, he would have narrated all of them. He's one of the best out there.

This was an awesome addition to the series!

The story was so well done, and the author was really really good!

It was different at first how he pronounced Kahlan's name, but it didn't bother me very much, and his voices were stellar!

Performance was excellent. Another fantastic Richard and Khalan story by Terry Goodkind. Can't wait to read/listen to the next one.

love and hate

Fourth book in the series, fourth narrator. I wanted to scream that the main characters name is KAY LAN not Kollan, he seems to have a dislike for the hard A sound. I am having a love/hate relationship with this series. It seems the characters keep making one stupid mistake after another, not having learned anything from the previous installments. Perhaps it was the authors intent to make us groan "not again" I will complete the entire series, because the basic story line is good. Please join in the read, uhm listen and share my frustration.

great book poor performance

A truly great book as they all have been, put as for the narrator saying a main characters name wrong is just unprofessional...
