Publisher's summary

The epic story that began with Heir to the Empire reaches its dramatic conclusion in this essential Star Wars Legends novel.

The embattled Republic reels from the attacks of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has marshaled the remnants of the Imperial forces and driven the Rebels back with an abominable technology recovered from the Emperor's secret fortress: clone soldiers. As Thrawn mounts his final siege, Han Solo and Chewbacca struggle to form a coalition of smugglers for a last-ditch attack, while Princess Leia holds the Alliance together and prepares for the birth of her Jedi twins.

The Republic has one last hope—sending a small force into the very stronghold that houses Thrawn’s terrible cloning machines. There a final danger awaits, as the Dark Jedi C’baoth directs the battle against the Rebels and builds his strength to finish what he already started: the destruction of Luke Skywalker.

Star Wars Episode 9. The Last Command

I was thirteen when my mom and dad brought The Thrawn Trilogy home from Costco all those years ago. They let me read it first. I will always remember this sweeping tale. It took all the characters I’d come to love and made them even more interesting. New heroes, both obvious and reluctant, were brought to life. So was a villain so brilliant I honestly worried for Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca and the rest of my heroes. When I was reading them John Williams was playing in my head. The Last Command was a perfect ending to a well thought out story. Listening to this is PURE nostalgia.

PS Disney. I’d buy an unbridged version of every “Legends” novel. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels like this. It’s pretty much the only way I’d ever buy a “new” Star Wars book. I’m not a fan of the new stuff. The last book I enjoyed/bought was Rogue One. Food for thought Disney. You own the rights....

AMAZING CONCLUSION!!

I read the trilogy almost a decade ago, but this audiobook really brought it to life. An epic conclusion to the series that made me wish all Star Wars books were this good.

Truly Excellent!

Loved It! It opens up so much of the story and lore following the trilogy. Can listen to it countless times over and still find new lore.

Great trilogy! A must read if you love star wars

I went into this trilogy without knowing much about the author. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it was planned out, narrated, and produced. Thrawn felt like a villain that could very well have been in the original movies.

Outstanding

What a great follow on story to Return of Jedi. The plot of the entire story develops gracefully and keeps you at the edge of your seat the entire time.

Interesting first hand account and view to the interactions of Mara Jade and Luke; which will help you understand how these two very different and dynamic people within the Star Wars universe come together and ultimately sealed their fates together.

You also see the birth of the Solo children and how they become part of the central group for much of the Star Wars expanded universe.

A must listen if you are a true Star Wars fan.

Good story

I actually read these books when they first came out but listening to them on audible is a whole other experience. I really enjoyed this story but I do wanna say that it would be nice if this was more like the Darth Bane story as in focused more on the Empire & them winning. It does get a bit annoying after a while when somehow the rebels always win I love Star Wars but I also love the books where the sith or empire win the outcome here is what it almost always is. Outbound flight is a great story that I feel accompanies this series but unfortunately audible at this time only has the abridged version.

Excellent performance!

This starwars series is a fantastic ride. The character development and human understanding definitely keeps you engaged. The climax happens pretty fast and is a little predictable, but had plenty of adrenaline to make up for it.
