Here is a special edition 20th anniversary release of the #1 New York Times bestselling novel that reignited the entire Star Wars publishing phenomenon—unabridged for the first time. The biggest event in the history of Star Wars books, Heir to the Empire follows the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia after they led the Rebel Alliance to victory in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
Five years after the Death Star was destroyed and Darth Vader and the Emperor were defeated, the galaxy is struggling to heal the wounds of war, Princess Leia and Han Solo are married and expecting twins, and Luke Skywalker has become the first in a long-awaited line of new Jedi Knights.
But thousands of light-years away, the last of the Emperor’s warlords - the brilliant and deadly Grand Admiral Thrawn - has taken command of the shattered Imperial fleet, readied it for war, and pointed it at the fragile heart of the New Republic. For this dark warrior has made two vital discoveries that could destroy everything the courageous men and women of the Rebel Alliance fought so hard to create.
The explosive confrontation that results is a towering epic of action, invention, mystery, and spectacle on a galactic scale - in short, a story worthy of the name Star Wars.

Sci-Fi fan extraordinaire! Not Fantasy; just Sci-Fi.
I listen to books on the road to help me sleep. Well this kept me up! I liked the abridged since I had read the books. This performance of the full story was outstanding. Pleas do the next two.
The whole interaction with Thrawn, Paeileon and Karrde played well.
Excellent as always
Just when you thought it was over.
Voices were great. Story was fun, exciting.
ysalamiri blocking the force
All had the right characterizations.
Where are the rest on audible!
When mara jade revelas her past. Of course that is my favorite part anyway. Hearing thrawn talk about knowing a planets 'art'
I love the music and sound effects. I didnt like how mara sounded like a petulant teenage boy
I would recommend this to my friends because it is an awesome book, just about everyone has seen the original Star Wars films, that is all you need to jump right into this book.
The understandable characters, Timothy Zahn makes characters living a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away seem like real people.
His flair for portraying multiple characters
Star Wars the way it was meant to be!
I was blown away by the quality, attention to detail, and overall excellent treatment to this book. The voices, music, and sound effects are all done to perfection. This audio experience has made it a brand new book to me! I can't recommend this high enough for any fans of sci-fi, even if you don't like Star Wars. PLEASE finish the trilogy in this same manner!!!
The amazing performance by Marc Thompson. The variety in his voices, the understanding of what he is reading... Simply amazing. I wish all audiobooks were read this well.
Admiral Thrawn - the accent, the sound of genius.
Sadly, I haven't yet had the pleasure, but I will gladly look to other books read by Mr. Thompson.
Neither. I know the story very well having read it as a kid.
This book has to appear in everyone's library. Even if only to see how amazing an audiobook can be.
The Top 10
George Lucus is dead, lets enjoy Star Wars again!
This was a top notch production with special effects and actors protraying your favorite Star Wars characters. This is the perfect antidote to the last Star Wars movies!
I really liked the music and sound affects.
It is too bad that the rest of the trilogy is not available in unabrigded form. It's okay I still know how to read.
The story was great and well put together. I would say that this is a must for any Star Wars fan. The only complant I have is that the other two books is the series are abridged and the voice work is not nearly as well done as Marc Thompsons. Get this one you won't be sorry!
It was very easy to engross myself in this book. It was the next best thing to watching it on the screen.
Thrawn without a doubt is an amazing and complex character.
His tone and inflection were perfect. He also gave each character their own personality and accent in his narration making it very easy to follow and imagine.
