Publisher's summary

As the end of the twentieth century nears, an asteroid is hurtling toward Earth. When it hits, the impact will result in the end of all life on the planet.

Ambassador Spock travels back in time to subtly warn Earth's inhabitants of impending doom while calling into question humanity's priorities. However, before the truth is told, the all-powerful being, Q, appears and reminds Spock that he is prohibited from interfering in Earth's history. Besides, Q doesn't see mankind as something worth saving.

This initial encounter between the two legendary characters explodes into a battle of wits as Spock cleverly befuddles Q with his own words. As barbs are exchanged, and humanity's flaws and wonders are laid bare, Spock's logic just may convince Q that humans are indeed a species worthy of salvation; but will he be too late?

Corny jokes, but cool to hear

Always a delight to hear Nimoy's voice. And DeLancie, too, why not. Don't expect anything more than banter, but it is fun for fans!

Spock and q

really what more could you ask for? witty banter, hits some issues on the nose and has plenty of references. I've listened to it a dozen times and still get laughs. worth every penny. sad I never got to meet Leanord Nemoy while he was alive.

This can't be anything less than GRAND!

Spock, Q, and word play what more could this little nerd heart want? A sequel perhaps? Oh they were brilliant enough to capture one!

Fansastic and hirlourous

What made the experience of listening to Star Trek the most enjoyable?

I love this audiobook and the sequel! I kept listening this again and again because I love hearing Mr Nimoy and de Lance voices and playing their parts to the hilt.

Very entertaining

The poetry was a bit much in my opinion, but just to hear Spock and Q’s verbal gymnastics was a joy nonetheless. Makes me wish both were on the same screen, in an STNG episode or two. This is a cool thing to have if you are a!Star Trek fan and collector of the franchise paraphernalia.

Great interaction

Something I wanted but didn't know, great book. Two opposites interacting with Spock at his best. Could learn negotiation from this.

Wish I had been there

A great capture of some great actors. Simply fun to listen to - as someone liking Star Trek. Leonard Nimoy is absolute brilliant int his - as is John de Lancie. Wish I had been there in the audience.
