Why did I wait so long?!!
I have been looking for a new series to mix in with my regulars. It's just nice to mix things up now and then. I tried a few other series while this one sat in my wish list for weeks before I finally gave it a try. I wish I had skipped some of the others and gotten to this one sooner!
I loved everything about the main character. She has such confidence yet there is still plenty of mystery surrounding her. I was kept on my toes trying to figure things out the through the whole book. A nice change from some of the more predictable options out there.
Khristine Hvam does a great job with the naration which is just as important. Her voice fits the main character well and she easily differentiates the other characters as well. The pace she reads at is just right.
Can not wait for more!

Enjoyable series.
This is my second listen through, and I have been enjoying it immensely. At first the character development seems a bit dry, but as the story progresses the characters come to life unexpectedly. One of my favorite things about this series as a whole, is that there are continuing schemes and plots woven through the overall arch of the series, and one thing that can appear as a blip, or plot hole in one book/story, takes shape further and leaves you wondering what else could you have missed. I have enjoyed this second listening noticing things I missed before, and am sure I have still over looked a piece or 2 as well.

Enthralling
As a fellow writer, I really could tell that Faith Hunter did lots of research and lots of re-writing to make it a complete book. it's a bit rough around the edges and they are a few small mistakes but overall a very compelling story.
