Publisher's summary

Harry Dresden, Chicago's only professional wizard, is about to have a very bad day.…

Because as Winter Knight to the Queen of Air and Darkness, Harry never knows what the scheming Mab might want him to do. Usually, it’s something awful.

He doesn’t know the half of it.…

Mab has just traded Harry's skills to pay off one of her debts. And now he must help a group of supernatural villains - led by one of Harry's most dreaded and despised enemies, Nicodemus Archleone - to break into the highest-security vault in town, so that they can then access the highest-security vault in the Nevernever.

It's a smash-and-grab job to recover the literal Holy Grail from the vaults of the greatest treasure hoard in the supernatural world - which belongs to the one and only Hades, Lord of the freaking Underworld and generally unpleasant character. Worse, Dresden suspects that there is another game afoot that no one is talking about. And he's dead certain that Nicodemus has no intention of allowing any of his crew to survive the experience. Especially Harry.

Dresden's always been tricky, but he's going to have to up his backstabbing game to survive this mess - assuming his own allies don’t end up killing him before his enemies get the chance.…

Harry Dresden

I love this series. I bought the first few in a one volume set for my son. I read them and was absolutely in love with the characters and the adventures I went on with them. Can't wait for the next one!

Great story told in a great way.

One of my favorite Narrators. These books would make a great TV series on CW or similar. A great character.

Wonderful

This is my favorite series and Marsters is amazing. The ending especially was a nice touch, the music perfect and coming in at the right moment.

Skin Game

Jim Butcher scores big with another great story line. Marsters once again rocks, couldn't put it down.

Melancholy pleasure.

As with the other Dresden novels, Skin Game left me smiling. The story was incredibly entertaining and I felt as if I were part of an epic dungeon crawl similar to the old RPG's I used to play. I love any book that Nicodemus is involved in (as I think he is a true anti-hero with a very rich and intriguing back story) and the introduction of new characters is always a treat when Jim Butcher is developing them. As always, Marsters does a splendid job on narration. If Dresden were to hit the big screen Marsters should get the job! Great entertaining story. Not a Pulitzer but entertaining and well performed. A definite read.

Bottom Line: Can't Wait for the Next One!

Great story, great characters, and great narrator. Love the gravity that's settling on Harry's shoulders. Next entry can't come soon enough!

Want More

For the past few years I have been listening to the Dresden Files and hope this isn't the last one ever. I want more. I need more. I want to know more about what happens with Molly Carpenter and all the other characters I know and love.
