Publisher's summary

In the New York Times best-seller Darth Bane: Path of Destruction, Drew Karpyshyn painted a gripping portrait of a young man’s journey from innocence to evil. That man was Darth Bane, a twisted genius whose iron will, fierce ambition, and strength in the dark side of the Force made him a natural leader among the Sith - until his radical embrace of an all-but-forgotten wisdom drove him to destroy his own order...and create it anew from the ashes. As the last surviving Sith, Darth Bane promulgated a harsh new directive: the Rule of Two.

Two there should be; no more, no less.

One to embody the power, the other to crave it.

Now Darth Bane is ready to put his policy into action, and he thinks he has found the key element that will make his triumph complete: a student to train in the ways of the dark side. Though she is young, Zannah possesses an instinctive link to the dark side that rivals his own. With his guidance, she will become essential in his quest to destroy the Jedi and dominate the galaxy.

But there is one who is determined to stop Darth Bane: Johun Othone, Padawan to Jedi Master Lord Hoth, who died at Bane’s hands in the last great Sith War. Though the rest of the Jedi scoff at him, Joshua’s belief that there are surviving Sith on the loose is unshakeable.

As Johun continues his dogged pursuit of the man who killed his master, Zannah, faced unexpectedly with a figure from her past, begins to question her embrace of the dark side. And Darth Bane is led by Force-induced visions to a moon where he will acquire astonishing new knowledge and power - power that will alter him in ways he could never have imagined....

Had me on the edge of my seat.

Glad I listened! I did not listen to the previous book and it didn’t affect my enjoyment of this one.

Exciting book!

What made the experience of listening to Rule of Two the most enjoyable?

Another great performance by Davis! The characters are believable and, of course, the sound effects are awesome. It's like listening to a movie. The story was a little slower in parts, at least compared with the first book, but overall was a great book. I really loved it!!

Not Canon, no problem

I usually stay away from Star Wars Legend books. I don’t want to distort the story lines I have grown up watching and listening to. So when my good friend and fellow Star Wars junky suggested this trilogy I was a bit apprehensive. I am so glad I listened to this series. Because it takes place a long time before any of the current story lines I was able to fully invest myself in the new characters and story. It’s dark and sometimes shocking and yet it feels like I’m truly in a Star Wars story. Hearing the origin of the Sith’s “Rule of Two” is fascinating. I have listened to almost all of the new Star Wars books, From “Catalyst” to “Blood Line” and I love all those books but this trilogy might be my favorite.
“Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.”

It's a good book.

The book is good, but the first one for me at least was better, although the performance of this was noticeably better than the first book. But the storyline seemed not to be as strong.

Worthy follow up to one of the best SW stories.

the Bane trilogy is among one of the best Star Wars stories ever told. It's exciting, intelligent and riveting. If you like learning more about the dark side of the force then don't pass up these books.
