Publisher's summary

Condemned and shunned for black magic, Rachel Morgan has three days to get to the annual witches' conference and clear her name, or be trapped in the demonic ever-after - forever after.

But a witch, an elf, a living vampire, anda pixy in one car, going across the country? Talk about a recipe for certain disaster, even without being the targets for assassination.

For after centuries of torment, a fearsome demon walks in the sunlight, freed at last to slay the innocent and devour their souls. But his ultimate goal is Rachel Morgan, and in the fight for survival that follows, even embracing her own demonic nature may not be enough to save her.

A comment on Credits

This is a comment to Audible and the publishers on credits. Please note that I will NEVER pay two credits for a book unless it is exceedingly long. I bought this on sale. For the last book, I waited months until it was on sale, too. If these last two books had never gone on sale, I never would have listened. If two credits for popular books becomes the norm, I will cancel my membership. Just sayin'.

As to the book, Kim Harrison is amazing as usual! One of my favorite series.

Rachel Morgan and Trent

Had to listen to this book twice because the nuances were such that I wanted to really under stand what was happening to Rachel &Trent and how the relationship between them would play out.

Rachel is not slow on the uptake but that kiss she and Trent had should have told her something.....I just didn't think she got it from the story's ending.

Rachel is a very passionate person. She gives her all for those she loves. Trent knows that. Ivy knows that, and yet. . . This ending was a bit flat....

I Love Rachel Morgan

I Love Rachel Morgan! Kim Harrison+ Marguerite Gavin = A perfect Rachel Morgan! Everyone of these books are so much fun to listen to (With the exception of "The Outlaw Demon Wails', which unfortunately had a different narrator. But was still an excellent story). Marguerite Gavin is one of my favorite narrators. She takes books to a different level. For me, the story teller can either ruin a good book, or can make "a not so good" book better. But when you have a great Author paired up with a fantastic Narrator, it makes the audio book experience superb! Pale Demon, is the most epic book in the Rachel Morgan series yet. Opening the doors for a different kind of adventure in the next book. As always, Kim Harrison writes one helluva story.

Awesome installment

If you are a fan of Kim Harrison and the Rachael Morgan books - this installment will not dissapoint.
The characters are familiar and have their familiar quirks, along with a few new characters. The story plot line continues from the other books and includes some new venues to keep it interesting and new.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next.

As for the 2 credit issue - I've asked before and this is something the publisher sets and audible is not to blame. But this book is totally worth the 2 credits.

Great series!

I love this series! Kim Harrison continues to write books that make you sorry the book is over and you have to wait for the next in the series! Start with her first book Dead Witch Walking and you will throughly enjoy the ride!

this was a wonderful book

Marguerite Gavin did a spectacular job in capturing the characters, me being a amateur comic book artist, I could actually visualize what was going on because of how well she read the story

WOW! Talk about some changes.

This was one of the best books in the series. It reminded me of "Changes" from the Dresden series by Jim Butcher, in that there was a massive shift in the norm. It really broke what you expected Rachel's future to be, and then sort of super glued some things back together. I don't expect this to hold, and I am completely expecting some more major fallout.

Love it

Highly recommended.

Loved it!!!

This is by far one of the best paranormal series going!!! I'm amazed that HBO hasn't picked it up to go along with the True Blood fans. It's that good! Only sad part is that I now have to wait a whole year for the next installment :(
