Pleasantly surprised

I really enjoyed this book, wasn't so sure I would when it started but can't wait to start book 2.
It also gave me a little extra enjoyment when the character heads to MT and goes to a town I lived in. At one point a character says tourists.. I laughed cause that is so spot on for what you hear there. (a lot)

Great book, great world and characters

If you are looking for another series to get into, this a great start.
It has great world that is complex and stays true to rules brought out before.
Mercy is a strong, smart and complex character. The other characters just add to the story.
The story is strong and full of action.

If you like Kate Daniels (Ilona Andrews 'Kate Daniels' series), you will like this book.
Looking forward to the next book.

I didn't really love anything about it, it was an interesting story and good narrator, but not really my style

Probably the shifting and the daughter rescue

No, but I like her voice, I think she does a good job

Another good read by Lorelei King

I absolutely love Lorelei King and that is why I was drawn to this book. I'm glad I did. Although this seems to be a popular genre these days, I really liked Mercy Thompson and all her supernatural friends. I look forward to 'reading' the next in the series.

What did you love best about Moon Called?

How Mercy was calm most of the time even when she was mad. She is a lovable character. I enjoyed her and her thoughts.

What other book might you compare Moon Called to and why?

Vampire for Hire series by J. Rains. They may be different species but they are both do gooders.

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

She put a lot of thought into the characters. I was able to assume more about the characters by the way she understood them. It brought more depth to the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I listened at work and in the vehicle.

Love this series

I love the Mercy Thompson book series. It has everything that draws me in. A great heroine who is both strong but needs help. A bit of comedy that makes me laugh out loud from time to time. A great world of paranormal. And overall good story telling.

I love the scrappy heroine.

I am planning to listen to Blood Bound the next in the series as the Character are interesting if a bit typical for an "urban" fantasy

i found it typical to the book type

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Lorelei's reading was OK but i found the inflection not as deep as say Johanna Parker who reads the Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries or Marguerite Gavin who reads for the Kitty Norville .

Once i was into it yes and I did
