"An excellent read with plenty of twists and turns. Her strong and complex characters kept me entertained from its deceptively innocent beginning to its can’t-put-it-down end.” (Kim Harrison, New York Times best-selling author)

"Patricia Briggs always enchants her readers. With Moon Called, she weaves her magic on every page to take us into a new and dazzling world of werewolves, shapeshifters, witches, and vampires. Expect to be spellbound.” (Lynn Viehl, New York Times best-selling author)

“I’ve never been disappointed by one of [Patricia Briggs’s] books and this one is no exception...Moon Called ends on a high note and leaves you wanting more.” (Fresh Fiction)

A coyote's view of a Wolf Pack

It is kind of refreshing to have the main character not be a vampire or werewolf. I think I picked this book up on sale as I normally am not a big fan stories with a lot of were in them, but the world itself made up for things and I would definitely give it another whirl.

Magic is out of the bag in this world. Some parts of the magical world are out in the open (even to the point that the US Government, in a case of not learning from the past, has created reservations for them) while most of the supernatural world is still in the closet. Mercy is one of the closeted ones, sitting in almost her own category, a "Walker" who is able to turn into a coyote. Her history of being adopted by a werewolf pack due in part to the similarity of her ability makes her an expert on werewolves, but still an outsider.

Mercy runs an auto repair shop in Washington state. With clients who include a vampire, former bosses who are gremlins and the Alpha of a werewolf clan living right next to her. While raised in a werewolf pack, she has nothing to do with them until events drag her deep into pack business. All because of the act of kindness of taking in a young, newly turned and unaffiliated werewolf boy who she meets through her shop.

Well scripted actions scenes, a very well thought out world and interesting characters made this a fortuitous accidental buy.

Decent enough.

Moon called is a decent listen. I liked the story and the narrator was good. I especially like the slow reveal that Mercy Thompson's has other powers and abilities . I'm really glad that there's more to her than just a shape shifting coyote.

Good book. Why music???

Good book and author. quick story but enjoyable. I do wish that the publisher would stop putting music in the beginning and end. hard to hear and annoying!!

Love this series

I’d previously read this book, so knew I loved it already. The performance is good, but the narrator makes Mercy & Jessie sound a little more whiny weak with her tone & inflections than I prefer. Mercy is strong & independent, & I felt her dialogue should have reflected that a bit more. But otherwise, very good. Oh, and I wasn’t crazy about the musical intro. It competed with the reading for a few minutes too long right at the start. After that the only music is right at the end, but that wasn’t interruptive.

Always entertaining. The narrator is perfect for this series. The story is good, well written and lends itself well to the audiobook format.

A good series for Jane Yellowrock fans

I’ve been on a Patricia Briggs kick the past weeks when I should have been doing something else.

The Mercy Thompson series is a unique addition to the urban fantasy/paranormal offerings available now, concentrating on Mercy Thompson, daughter of Coyote..yes that Coyote, who shape shifts whenever she wishes.

She’s also a VW mechanic when not chasing rabbits.

I love that it’s situated in the Tri City area of south central Washington state, a location I know well. Briggs writes excellent descriptions of the vast desert area there and the beauty around it.

Not an area you expect to find an enclave of the Fay, fairies, gremlins, werewolves, vampires and one lonely coyote.

I completely enjoyed the series, my introduction to Patricia Briggs writing. I was disappointed when the 11th book was done but pleased to discover another series based in the same Briggs-verse, Alpha and Omega.

Read either..read them both. Completely enjoyable.
