Critic reviews

"An excellent read with plenty of twists and turns. Her strong and complex characters kept me entertained from its deceptively innocent beginning to its can’t-put-it-down end.” (Kim Harrison, New York Times best-selling author)

"Patricia Briggs always enchants her readers. With Moon Called, she weaves her magic on every page to take us into a new and dazzling world of werewolves, shapeshifters, witches, and vampires. Expect to be spellbound.” (Lynn Viehl, New York Times best-selling author)

“I’ve never been disappointed by one of [Patricia Briggs’s] books and this one is no exception...Moon Called ends on a high note and leaves you wanting more.” (Fresh Fiction)

Great Werewolf Tale

This is a great werewolf tale. I love that this book gives a new take on werewolves. Great performance by Lorelei King.

From you typical binge reader/listener

I am usually a start and reluctant to stop reader and audio listener. However, this book was a bit hard for me to get lost in. My biggest pet peeve was the music in the beginning and end of it. The story closely reminded me of Faith Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock and I prefer that concept more. Moon Called is not bad just not my cuppa tea I’d recommend this though with a disclaimer of the aforementioned bullet points

I love a strong female who understands the real world

I really love the Mercy series. This book has all the fantasy characters you know and new ones you don’t. I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters and especially Mercy, with her attitude, strength, and even some flaws. This series was recommended by a friend and I’m so glad I gave it a chance. I understand it is a series, but the author gives you the satisfaction of an complete ending. A few hints at things to come, but not a complete cliffhanger. I highly recommend!

Interesting and entertaining story, nice narration

I truly enjoyed the story. I've purchased and listened to all of the books in the series to date. I tried this series because I really loved Kim Harrison's "Rachel Morgan" series and this series was suggested as something similar. I haven't enjoyed any other paranormal series I've tried since the Rachel Morgan books except for this series.

Very good

Easy story to get into. Kept me entertained the whole time, I couldn't even guess the ending. I'll have to get into the rest of the series

Moon Called

Nice action and drama story. I liked the love triangle going on but wished there was a little more romance involved. Overall this was a good story.
Narration by Lorelei King was really good and she did an awesome job voicing the different characters. I usually do not like southern accents but she even did that well.

What I Was Looking For

An easy listen, thanks to fast pacing and good narration. It filled the urban fantasy void I've had for years. I would've picked it up sooner if it weren't for the cover art which used to strike me as a bit tacky, but now with the positive association it's grown on me. Shouldn't have judged this book by it's cover. Not a literary masterpiece, but scratches my itch for a bit of urban fantasy in just the way I like. Excited to dig into the sequels.

Another heroine and great character development

A great narrator with a great story line. just finish book 1 and I am buying book 2. Like the Kate Daniels series, the heroine is smart, strong and a fighter. Not the whining, repulsive ones you would get in a sex/ romance series. No hot smex scenes in this book. Just a great story with some action. Def can't wait til book 2 when some romance begins

Wonderful

I love this series. A series that has good adult characters and good comonsence. None of the teenage drama that litters a lot of other werewolf books out there.
