Publisher's summary

Ever since an attempt on his life marooned him with his bodyguards on the hostile planet Marduk, with its unending series of threats, obstacles, and adventures, Prince Roger McClintock has evolved from a spoiled, petulant heir into a true leader of humans and aliens alike.

This third edition to the Prince Roger Series takes the Bronze Barbarians across the Eastern Ocean of Marduk, facing giant sea monsters, pirates, and the barbarian nations that dwell on the other side. Their destination is a spaceport held by humans of questionable loyalties. As Roger comes nearer to making his way home, he learns that his attempted assassination was part of a larger plot. Not all is as it seems on Earth or on Marduk. Fortunately, he's got the Bronze Barbarians and the Basik's Own at his back.

Planet of the scrapes: don't miss the rest of the action in the Prince Roger Series.

Critic reviews

"The dynamic duo of Weber and Ringo continue Prince Roger McClintock's adventures, which are coming to constitute a military SF classic." (Booklist)
"Parallels with Prince Hal in Henry IV are probably intentional, adding a certain gravitas to the many exceptionally well-done battle scenes....readers can look forward to seeing how the authors will retell Henry V. It should be one hell of a St. Crispin's Day." (Publishers Weekly)

Absolutely fabulous program

One of the best series I ever heard. Content and presentation were great but the audible presentation was superb.

The Saga Continues

This is a awesome third addition to the series of Man.

The way it starts and how it ends leaves you wandering what is next.

Another great book in the series.

I have to say that i am still giving this series a great review. My only complaint in this particular book is some of the, in my opinion, unnecessary history and detail that is just unimportant to the story. If you listen to the series and enjoy it, you will know just what i am referring to in this particular installment.

Still, this is an entertaining book.

The best

I loved every heart strand tugging and heart pounding moment. Im a big sci fi lover but kind of picky. March to the stars, and all of the Prince Roger series, are the reasons why I love science fiction. The aliens are very believable in many ways but with a lot of nice alien strangeness that you might expect from non terrestrial evolution. the characters and story are beautifly crafted. Im trying to decied if this is the best book I have ever read. Stefan Rudnicki is the best voice tallent I have ever listnend to as well. It's so rare to have a audio book meet and surpass all of my expectations. but this one did. I hope David Weber and John Ringo and Stefan Rudnicki team up again. They have a good thing going.

Marduke isn't a Dog

And Dogzart is a huge lizard. Prince Roger is an unlikely hero and jarheads even Basick jarheads aren't usually my favorite characters. And the natives are giant 4 armed Scummies covered in slime??? Endless battles with 100,000 or more dead Scummies as the result can get pretty repetitive and the loss of some heroes we come to like is tough to take.

But we are finally out of the jungle and across the sea where Scummies are clothed in Muslim garb as the fighing and killing continues. Will any of the native's survive this corps of Marines?

It takes a heck of a book to overcome those 'shortcoming' and this is one hell of a book and series.
Sure it drags on a bit with 3 full books from the time the characters crash land on Marduke until they take off for a flight back to Earth but 90% of this epic is very imaginative and interesting. Mr Weber loves his ancient weapons mixed with the new and his future worlds back in the Dark Ages. I listened to the entire series and enjoyed almost all of it. 4 stars.

A triumph, superbly narrated. BUY IT!

A positive "must read" for every lover of military science fiction. Drake and Ringo team up to create a positively riviting account of a young man's coming of age and the bonding that only close combat can create among warriors. Totally believable characters in fantastic yet understandable situations. The attention to detail makes this one of the best I,ve listened to this year. Teamed with the other three books in the Prince Roger series, "March to the Stars" ranks with the best the genre has to offer. Thank God Audible decided to offer it unabridged. And thanks too for the superb job done by the narrator. You could not find better!I fervently hope that Ringo and Drake team up someday to give us just one more in the series, Emperor Roger Ramius Sergi Chang McClintok.

Great Series

Stefan Rudnicki is my favorite narrator! This book is a great tie up to the Marduk trilogy. We Few is the next in the series and is also very good military scifi reading.

Another Solid Military SciFi Entry

This is another solid entry into this military SciFi series. It is not quite as good as the first two books, however, it is a solid entry into the series. It still has tons of passion and well worth listening to.
