Publisher's summary

Plagued by a war between magic and technology, Atlanta has never been so deadly. Good thing Kate Daniels is on the job. She may have quit the Order of Merciful Aid, but she's still knee-deep in paranormal problems. Or she would be if she could get someone to hire her. Starting her own business has been more challenging than she thought it would be - now that the Order is disparaging her good name, and many potential clients are afraid of getting on the bad side of the Beast Lord, who just happens to be Kate's mate.

So when Atlanta's premier Master of the Dead calls to ask for help with a vampire on the loose, Kate leaps at the chance of some paying work. Turns out this is not an isolated incident, and Kate needs to get to the bottom of it - fast, or the city and everyone dear to her might pay the ultimate price.

Kate Daniel’s World

This is a series that I enjoy over and over again. My vision is failing, so the Audible versions of the books are invaluable. I will be listening to this magical book again, on another day that I need to escape reality to rest my brain.

Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews

I loved this story while it took me longer to get into than the other books in this series it was still amazingly well written and the narration was magnificent as always.

The end was predictable, but I didn't care

I'm really falling in love with all of these characters & the narrator did an excellent job once again.

Still Loving It!

It's been a bit of a struggle getting used to the narrator of this series, BUT I love these books so much that I honestly don't care now.

Kate and Curran are freaking great. Crazy, homicidal, and unbalanced, but the love. Soooo good.

Mad skills!

Kate Daniels lives in an alternative world where the power of magic and the power of technology vie for control over society. In Magic Slays, the war between magic and technology peak in a knock-down-drag-out fight that is both exciting and heart wrenching. In this installment, we also learn more about Kate’s family, and Kate learns how to trust in a mature relationship with a lunatic alpha male while Curran learns that you can’t manipulate your partner and have a healthy, happy relationship. This book moves a little slower than other books in the series, but it is a fantastic addition and hints at some wonderful future plots. I can’t wait for the next book! I found it irritating that Tantor Media delayed the audiobook release even though the kindle release and the book release were on the same day. Renee Raudman is a pro. She really brings these characters to life.

Good storyline but Kate gets a little dramatic

Would you listen to Magic Slays again? Why?

The book overall is good. Towards the end I felt like there was too much drama. I get she's upset about Julie, but the rants kept on coming. A few of those could have been edited out without loss

Maravilloso!

Where does Magic Slays rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

On the top, right next to all the other books from the Magic Series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Curran and Kate, of course! I do not know exactly why... There is this connection between them or perhaps is the whole "not really having sex scenes" thing that makes it really exciting. Is up to "you" to imagine how good it really is.

Which scene was your favorite?

Cannot decide! Loved the whole book! However, there is a part between Kate and Julie towards the end that made my eyes water. I could almost feel the tears on the narrator's voice. It was great!

Any additional comments?

Renee is an excellent narrator and even though I had this book on my nook I had to get it on audio too! Good job!

Lighthouses do not always signify a safe harbor

Kate is having a terrible week. Her ward,Julie, has run away from school, she is trying to get her business up and going, Andrea shows up with the attack poodle.and Curran dumps Aunt Bea's problem child on her lap. This devolves into a staff of four plus Julie when she is not in school at the PI firm that Curran sets up for her. A group of humans hire a mad scientist into making a machine that destroys magic and Kate is hired to find the scientist when he and his machine are stolen. Lots of action, sex, and just a great story that is well written and read. I have most of the series and have really enjoyed it.

love it

Did not disappoint. I wished the relationship between Curran and Kate became a little more complex, but it was still excellent.
