The hot new novel in the Black Dagger Brotherhood by the number-one New York Times best-selling author.
John Matthew has come a long way since he was found living among humans, his vampire nature unknown. Taken in by The Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was-or his true identity.
Xhex has long steeled herself against the attraction to John Matthew. Until fate intervenes and she discovers that love, like destiny, is inevitable.

I bought the book to read but I'd been waiting too long for this book. Being too busy to sit down and read I went and bought the audio as well and I'm very pleased. This book was everything I'd hoped it would be, and more.
Once again J.R. Ward delivers an addicting story that is sexy, heart-wrenching and action packed. I loved the Darius twist. I will be re-reading the entire series all over again!
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. Its intense, heart wreching, lovely, and sexy. Several questions are answered and some existing storylines continue.
Xhex and John's story is the most complete and heart warming love story of the series so far.
I always wanted John Matthew to have a pretty, warm, nurturing, feminen love interest so I have to admit I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of the bulked up Xhex with the mannish haircut as a potential partner for John. I knew J. R. Ward would have a high hurdle to leap in order for me to accept this pairing. Well, she flew over it with room to spare--and then some. Not only did I accept Xhex and John as a potential couple, I came to earnestly root for them to find some way to be together.
In this book, Ward interjects flashbacks of Darius's history with Tohrment and includes a seemingly unconnected story of paranormal investigators in South Carolina between sections of the main storyline and then finds a way to connect all the seemingly unrelated storylines. We don't get all the relevant information we are interested in and one glaringly obvious aspect of who John is never gets specifically revealed, but the story reveals and resolves a satisfying amount of information. My main complaint is that it should have been twice as long and contained more of everyone and everything! OK, so that isn't practical... but waiting another year for more of the story is going to be tohrture!
One point for those to whom it matters, there is a subplot involving Blay and his love for Qhuin and Blay's initial involvement with Saxton, Qhuin's male cousin. I've always really liked Blay and have wanted good things for him, but never thought Qhuin was one of them. His emotional journey is well handled and while his sexuality isn't in any way concealed, the scenes are never more explicit than I could handle. Generally, I prefer my romance between a male and a female but find I do care enough about Blay to follow him as far as Ward took it. Still, I'm not hoping for a whole book dedicated to a Blay and Qhuin coupling.
Lover Mine is a welcome continuation of the series in Ward's incomparable prose style and worth every minute.
A mom, a wife, a friend, a happy ending addict, an audiobook junkie, a wine lover and geek wanna -be. I'm constantly looking to be blown away.
JR Ward is the best, and this book is one of her best. I love the narrator, he's perfect for this series.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
It kinda feels like the entire series revolve around john Matthew and I love every minute if it! Qhuinn and Blay are awesome in this book!
Because when I find a series that I enjoy, I know that I will always come back to it to get the same enjoyment all over again. Good Books are timeless, you never get enough.
No favorite characters..........well, I take that back, they are all my favorites.
Yes, I love his voice, it isn't monotonous so I stay awake to listen.
I've listened to this series out of order, but that doesn't seem to affect the story any. I love series like that because you never know when you find just one and it is part 3 or something. You always get a full story in each part, not really dependent on the others to make it whole
While I jumped into this series in the middle, I was floored by the language and the homosexual content, and language. I imagine I will be painted a homophobic for my comments but I still reserve the right to choose my entertainment content. The constant use of offensive language, poorly developed plot and derivative urban prattle are not my idea of a good read, or listen. I wish, wish someone in the 47 reviews had mentioned the language or content.. Sorry JR Ward I thought I would like your work.. Nope.
The series was great I need moor or this. There has to be another story or two in this saga. These books were the best vamp stories i have ever read.
This book had the right amount of suspence, romance, and drama. The narrator continues do an exellent job with the characters. Can't wait until the next book of the series is released.
