"The stakes are high, the action is fierce, and the peculiar core concept of a werewolf with a talk show miraculously continues to work." (Publishers Weekly)
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
This was a great story and conclusion to the series. I don't want to go into too many details about what happens...let's just say that the long game ends. At the end of the previous book, Low Midnight, Cormac had a possible way to get to Roman and in this story they try to take advantage of this. Things don't go the way they might wish but it starts something that brings Kitty and friends into a major showdown with Roman and the person controlling Roman. Kitty and Co have to go through some desperate situations in order to get through it but they manage and the story ends with a HEA all around.
I enjoyed this story (and series) greatly. I really loved Kitty as a heroine and was very happy with her throughout the series. Ben made a really good partner for her. He was strong when needed but was more of a support for Kitty rather than trying to take control of things himself. Together they made a great couple..at times I wished for a little more steam between them but it didn't usually bother me since this isn't really that sort of a series. I also loved how Kitty is with her friends and how she will go out of her way to do the right thing. While I liked how things ended, I am going to miss this series. I'd definitely recommend this series. :D
Many say I am easily entertained because I have given many 5star ratings, but I KNOW what I like, have my favorites, and choose accordingly.
AWESOME seseries! Sorry it's ending. Thanks Ms Vaughn for sharing Kitty's world with us.
THAT's what they chose to be the big bad behind romen?!
how unexpectedly conventional and over-used.
i was hoping for a ancient god of destruction or alien space bats or at the least some kind of old roman Frankenstein-type mad alchemist so i admit i found this final book seriously disappointing. the author has been so good at pulling out odd and interesting characters from multiple supernatural sources around the world so i was expecting more than just another "the devil made me do it" set up.
the story is fairly well written but to be honest, i lost most of my interest once the disappointment hit and really had to work not to just skip to the end.
as long as you go into it not expecting anything interesting in regards to the big bad, you will probably like it. for me, its one of my least favorite of the kitty books.
It's always a bittersweet affair when one of your favorite series comes to a close. I've been listening to the Kitty Norville series for the past three years, so I haven't been following the series since its inception, but it still feels like it's over too soon. That being said I was worried when Carrie Vaughn introduced the idea of "the long game" that the series would start to drag or become repetitive. I did not ever find that too be the case, and I feel that KITTY SAVES THE WORLD is the perfect ending to such an amazing series.
I'm amazed at how well Carrie Vaughn put together the final book in the Kitty Norville series. There were so many things that I wanted to see happen, and I'm pretty sure that all of them happened. The book starts out where Kitty has always belonged, behind the microphone on her talk show. Kitty's talk shows have always been a highlight of every book for me. I was so fascinated with the original idea of a werewolf talk show host, and that was why I loved the first book, Kitty and the Midnight Hour, so much.
If you had a favorite character in the series, that hadn't died, than you're almost guaranteed to see that character in KITTY SAVES THE WORLD. For me Kitty Norville has always been about the characters, watching them grow and seeing new ones come into play. So I was worried that some of my favorite characters wouldn't get an appearance in the last book, just because there were so many characters in this series. Carrie Vaughn did an great job of bringing all the characters back together and giving them all important roles to help Kitty stop Roman and the apocalypse.
I could go on for many paragraphs about this book. I'm often disappointed with the final book of a series. There are so many things that I want to see and so many plots to tie up, most authors just don't do it that well. Carrie Vaughn wrapped up all the major plot lines and pulled everything together in the end. KITTY SAVES THE WORLD is probably my favorite final book in any series that I've read. I highly recommend KITTY SAVES THE WORLD.
Notes on the Audiobook: Though I did receive and ARC copy of KITTY SAVES THE WORLD. I still had to listen to it as well when the audiobook came out. I've listened to every other Kitty book so I couldn't not listen to the last one. Marguerite Gavin does an amazing job with these series, and her voice will always be Kitty's in my mind. The only thing that could make the audio better is if they actually played Bad Moon Rising before the Midnight Hour.
I really hated to see this series end. I hope there are more stories coming from other characters. I hope to see more of Kitty and Ben in them. I hate saying goodbye to characters I love!!!
Well I like the story it was pretty anti climatic and leaves me wondering if will be any future Kitty Norville stories
Carrie Vaughn did a very good job of concluding this series. Kitty Saves the World stayed true to the series and it's characters. I am very pleased with the entire series.
Kitty comes out on top as the true Regina Luporum! All the questions are answered and the series wraps up on a positive note.
I'm going to miss Kitty's adventures, but who knows what the future holds from Carrie Vaughn?
I Love a great supernatural tale, a Love story, PNR, a Cool Mystery and Most Sci-Fi....if there are vampires, weres or witches in it, that's a plus! Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!
All of it! The story, narration...the characters....I love Kitty!
Kitty is unique with her whole werewolf, talkshow, dj, kinda thing going...but the vibe of her books is very similar to the vibe in the Cat and Bones stories....I am certainly going to miss Kitty and the pack..Oh No, Tears!!! lol
I really loved the whole story, but when Ben comes to Yellowstone and sees Kitty at first....and when the angels give Kitty the pendant..I was screaming! lol
I wanted to, and if it wasn't for work, I would have!
I cant express how much joy this whole series has brought me, I was lucky enough to get my first Kitty books in a Halloween Sale, back in October of 2012, I was drawn to it at first because one of my fave narrators Marguerite Gavin was performing it....but after book 1, I bought 2...then 3-5...then before the sale ended I had the first 10 books...lol I love that Kitty saved the world..and I love that her and Ben got there family....I kinda wish I knew where the pack had been...but they are all safe and that is what matters...I love that we got to see Rick one more time and a few other friendly faces....but I don't want this to be the end! lol I need a book from Ben's perspective, and one from Rick's! I need to know more about baby John!!! lol Ohhh the end of a series is always so bitter sweet...I love you Kitty..and I think I am going to cry...Good Bye!
GREAT SERIES, AND WONDERFUL ENDING BOOK, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!
XOX KITTY AND BEN I WILL MISS YOU!!!!!!!!
