Audie Award Nominee, Best Teens Category, 2013

Not so very long ago, Eragon - Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider - was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.

Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances.

The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaësia? And if so, at what cost?

This is the much-anticipated, astonishing conclusion to the worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

a good end to an amazing story.

I didn't want it to end but alas all things do and it ended well in my eyes.

Inheritance

Loved the book. Read the first three in the series by myself and could hardly wait for the final one. It was well worth the wait!

I loved it!

I love how the series ended. I think it was a perfect way to wrap things up based on the direction the 3rd book took the story. I got a little thrown off by how the Dragon voices where performed but early into the 2nd book I was totally used to it.

I would recommend this series to anyone who likes Lord of the Rings or just Dragons and Magic in General.

What a journey!

I have absolutely enjoyed these four books, the quality of weighting has grown as the characters have grown and developed and the amount of imagery that the books carry have allowed me to see the story unfold in my mind's eye as I so enjoy doing when I enjoy a story. Christopher Paolini captures both the reader's (listener's) imagination and emotions and sends them on a whirlwind of a story that excites them to continue and leaves them anticipating returning to the story if a pause is necessary.

Best dragon adventure series

loved this entire series. at first I didn't like the way he portrayed the dragons voices but it grew on me in time. I really hope Christopher Paolini makes another book in this world.

Hoped for the best

Everything is perfect except the fact that Saphira’s voice still sounds like a damn female Yoda who actually knows proper English grammar. Watch the movie for Eragon and see how they did her voice beautifully.
