Publisher's summary

In the sixth novel in the New York Times bestselling Iron Druid Chronicles, two-thousand-year-old Druid Atticus O’Sullivan finds himself the target of two goddesses of the hunt and a trickster god determined to unleash the apocalypse.

“[Kevin] Hearne is a terrific storyteller with a great snarky wit. . . . Neil Gaiman’s American Gods meets Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden.”—SFFWorld

For someone who’s been alive for two thousand years, Atticus O’Sullivan is a pretty fast runner. Good thing, because he’s being chased by not one but two goddesses of the hunt—Artemis and Diana—for messing with one of their own. Dodging their slings and arrows, Atticus, Granuaile, and his wolfhound, Oberon, are making a mad dash across modern-day Europe to seek help from a friend of the Tuatha Dé Danann. His usual magical option of shifting planes is blocked, so instead of playing hide-and-seek, the game plan is . . . run like hell.

Crashing the pantheon marathon is the Norse god Loki. Killing Atticus is the only loose end he needs to tie up before unleashing Ragnarok—AKA the Apocalypse. Atticus and Granuaile have to outfox the Olympians and contain the god of mischief if they want to go on living—and still have a world to live in.

Well Done Kevin.

I am normally a big Sci-Fi fan but occasionally will read Fantasy fiction (why people choose to lump the two together is always a mystery to me, but that’s besides the point for now)
So reading these series and finding the writing style, plots, sub-plots, and humor so well done has been truly a satisfying discovery. This is simply another excellent book in the series. I have read the Dresden Files and despite the hum-drum of the last reviewer, I find that these books are equally (if not more) entertaining. While Dresden has a slightly more serious air to its tone, This series delivers far better humor, and for me in the end, that truly is what I find more appealing. Oberon is definitely the key to the humor in these series so if you haven’t heard these listen to the first in the series and you will find yourself hooked.

Kevin (the author) also appears to be as prolific a reader as he is a writer as he incorporates so many other works of literature in his books. I Cant wait to read the next one in the series and hope that soon someone realizes the gold in this and makes a movie out of them.

If you havent read it, start from the first book in the series. You will not be disappointed.

Hearne Takes Atticus' Story to the Next Level!

I have to admit that after the last book I debated if I should continue the series or not. I had some complaints about how one of my favorite characters, Atticus, was lacking in character development and although the stories are great...I wanted more! Well, b*****s, I got it in Hunted! To me character development is critical in a series.

Hearne wraps up a lot of loose ends in Hunted. With high action and the array of characters I have come to expect, I was entertained and captivated. Taking it a step further Hearne still leaves the ending open for more adventures that I cannot wait to explore. If you are a fan of this series, I don't think you will be disappointed! Hearne takes us on a more emotional ride than previous book in this series and I might have even got a little misty in the eyes at one point.

Granuaile begins to take on a much bigger role in Hunted and I enjoyed the feminine feel her personality added to the mix - a touch of diversity in the Iron Druid Chronicles as a whole. As a fantasy and/or urban fantasy Hunted doesn't miss its mark.

This audio book is brilliant. Luke Daniels knocks it out of the park and makes listening to Hunted a complete joy. With so many difficult pronunciations of different names listening to them spill effortlessly from Daniels takes the story to another level.

Bring on Ragnarok

3.5 but it deserves a round UP for old times sakes.

audiobook: Luke Daniels really adds life into this series. The voice he does for Oberon alone keep my coming back for the lols. I'm not sure if I would be this invested if it weren't for his dynamic performance.

I love Oberon, the wolf hound. He's my favorite character in this series. He's so cute and funny.

There's no way I could sum this up. It's sort of business as usual and Atticus and Granuel run for their lives, literally...from Diana and Artimus, goddesses of the hunt...or some type of goddesses. You can name any mythological figure, any type of fae and they are likely to be in these novels. It's a mish mash of greek and roman pantheons and all sorts of crazy creatures that have huge egos and very little patience and who Atticus manages to piss off, causing him to have to flee.

It's fun, but I found myself wanting more. Granuel and Atticus are together now and I wanted more scenes with them alone, some expression of emotion, desire. Atticus is like 2000 years old, but I don't really know him. I don't know his hopes and dreams, his disappointments. I don't think this series is supposed that serious, but I can feel myself getting bored with the run from the crazy gods plot. Although it does create some hilarious scenarios and I did pump my fist in triumph....so I guess that's a win.

If you like this series, but want more romance and emotional connection then try Joceylnn Drake's "The Asylum Tales or Jenna Black's Nikki Glass series.

Awesome to the max!

This series is in the list of my Favorites, Awesome! The whole series from start to finish, both the storyline and narration, flawless (unless you are an over critical hardcore historian in this type of folklore, but I think even they would like this series). If you like these type of books, you will not be disappointed with this series. I hope Kevin Hearne comes out with another one.

It just keeps getting better

The Iron Druid series gets better with each book. The narration is very good and the story is well designed and developed. The characters grow with each book in the series and after awhile the reader (me) thinks of them as real people (or dogs) I really recommend the books but urge readers to start with book one and not jump in to reading one of the middle stories. this
