Publisher's summary

The first novel in the Iron Druid Chronicles - introducing a cool, new, funny urban fantasy hero

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.

Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power - plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish - to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.

Don’t miss any of Kevin Hearne’s phenomenal Iron Druid Chronicles novels:

"Hearne, a self-professed comic-book nerd, has turned his love of awesome dudes whacking mightily at evil villains into a superb urban fantasy debut.” (Publishers Weekly)

“A page-turning and often laugh-out-loud funny caper through a mix of the modern and the mythic.” (Ari Marmell, author of The Warlord’s Legacy)

Thoroughly enjoyable listen

A fast moving tale of a modern day druid dealing with ancient threats. Atticus, slogs his way thru ancient gods and evil witches with style and a rather snarky wit. Rife with some fun pop culture references, it's a great modern take on the typical fantasy read. My favorite part is the faithful wolfhound, Oberon, which the narrator brings to life with perfection!

Quality Trilogy

Would you listen to Hounded again? Why?

Yes. Each book in this trilogy is entertaining in it's own right. As a series the stories intertwine logically and beautifully. Enough suspense is peppered throughout and obstacles formulated to give the main characters the opportunities needed to gradually unfold their own histories, capabilities and emotions, thereby rounding them and pulling the reader into wanting to know more. And more is what I would very much like. The possibilities for storylines is endless and fascinating - lets have a follow on series.

I love this dog, where can I get one?

The star of these books is the dog! Enchanting characters, smart writing. I can’t get enough of them. I even bought the second book full price. That rarely happens!!!!
Well done Mr. Hearne!

Enjoyable and fun

If you could sum up Hounded in three words, what would they be?

Give it time

Would you be willing to try another book from Kevin Hearne? Why or why not?

Even though this one started out slow - once it got going I found it very enjoyable and fun. It was just very slow in the beginning with not much going on except a couple of interactions and the main character engaging in a lot of exposition. I'd like to read another in the series. Really liked the interaction with the dog :) he was the best part by far.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He could do different voices without being annoying - some male narrators just can't do a female character's voice and it comes off very cingeworthy. Mr Daniels did a good job even with female characters who had heavy accents (polish and Indian) and his Oberon voice was great! just the right bit of excitement and slobbery enthusiasm you'd expect if a dog could talk!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I got a few chuckles from Oberon's comments - a rememberable character that wolf hound!

Any additional comments?

Hope other books in the series hold up! I'd recommend this one.

Fun snarky easy read

I enjoyed this book and moved on to the second in the series. If you like fantasy with some humor thrown in this is a series for you. I. Laughed out loud many times. Great cast of characters, i can really root for the main character and his side kick. The narrator makes the book and captures the quirky sarcasm of the characters. #funfantasy #characterlove #tagsgiving #sweepstakes
