Publisher's summary

The first novel in the Iron Druid Chronicles - introducing a cool, new, funny urban fantasy hero

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.

Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power - plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish - to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.

Don’t miss any of Kevin Hearne’s phenomenal Iron Druid Chronicles novels:

“A page-turning and often laugh-out-loud funny caper through a mix of the modern and the mythic.” (Ari Marmell, author of The Warlord’s Legacy)

Just 5 minutes in and I couldn't press pause....

What made the experience of listening to Hounded the most enjoyable?

I loved the concept of the story. Listening brings it to life.

What did you like best about this story?

I love this genre, but this book brought the usual players into the plot in unusual ways.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voices and way he reads the book adds life. Some narrators simply read and the story becomes tedious and hard to recognize different characters. Not only does he have a different and distinct voice for each character, but their own way of speaking the lines.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did not want to stop the book, not even to go to sleep. Found myself wanting to buy the entire series, NOW.

a clever story.

Would you consider the audio edition of Hounded to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version, but I doubt it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Oberon, he is so damn cute, just what I would expect a dog to think about things.

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels – was your favorite?

Seamus O'Sullivan. (the druid)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did actually laugh out loud in certain parts.

Any additional comments?

Great Listen ~ Great Story

I love the genre, so going into this I had high hopes. Kevin Hearne did not disappoint me one bit! The story was an easy enough to follow but still had enough "depth" to keep my interest perked! Luke Daniels does a great job in narrating a fun, fast story! Love it, bring on the next book, oh and how 'bout a screen play, this book screams movie!

Harry Dresden as a Druid

Take Dresden, make him a Druid, and give him a more positive outlook on life and you'll have this unique story. It is an epic tale and the narrator is worthy of it.

For Oberon!

Seriously, that dog is hilarious.

I wanted to end with just that, but this thing won't let me leave a review of less than fifteen words, so here are more words. May the force be with you.

THIS DRUID STORY IS A GREAT SERIES TO READ!

I met the last living Druid right here! He's cute, sexy, funny and has a dog that speaks to him telepathically and is just as much the lead role as the Druid himself is! LOVED LOVED LOVED this first book so I immediately got the rest of the series. Cannot get enough of his "mission to cure and care for the Earth" or his dog, Oberon who is hilarious, or his unique way of dealing with such a long life and his current spot in history. I highly recommend this series, it's wonderful and I really don't think it would be the same if it was not "audible" and on paper to read. I love the narrator, he is very good. The story is excellent and rates five stars in all areas!

Good urban fantasy

It was a good book, it had been recommended to me while I am waiting for the next Dresden files. The fist book in most series are never good as the rest, let me read more to really be fair.

Wonderfully fun

The premise of the ancient druid in a young man's body first caught my interest, but the amusing dialogue between characters was what held it. Oberon the Irish wolfhound is particularly good. However the best part is the plethora of excellent voices and accents delivered by the reader Luke Daniels. He is amazing! By the end I was underwhelmed by all the fighting. Oh, well it was still lots of fun.
