Publisher's summary

The first novel in the Iron Druid Chronicles - introducing a cool, new, funny urban fantasy hero

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.

Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power - plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish - to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.

An easy listen!

What did you like best about Hounded? What did you like least?

It was a good mix of old world (Druid...some history) with new world (modern language & refrences). There was good humour & story was well written, with a few suprises and twists. Characters were easy to relate to & moderatly developed. Just found the story a little simple...not very complicated. If you are interested in a light listen - this is an amusing choice.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great character differences.

Do you think Hounded needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

There is potential for one...but mostly the story came to a comlplete conclusion

Any additional comments?

A good light listen that does not require a huge time comitment.

A good book in search of some emotion

Pretty good book, and decent narration. But the narrator (Luke Daniels) needs to learn to emote a little better. I felt the voice of Atticus to be too flat in most places.

Great series

The book was great, really enjoyed it. Performance was well done, but I hated how he voiced Oberon.

Good story - fun listen!

I really enjoyed this book (and I'm enjoying the 2nd one as well).
The story grabbed me from the start, the characters were interesting and, on occasion, I actually laughed out loud at some of the dialog.
I also really like the performance. Mr. Daniels does a great job of bringing the characters to life. I'll definitely look for other book narrated by him.

Loved It

I LOVED this book. Luke Daniels is great, and the story is fun and entertaining. It's not heavy literature, it's a light, fun ride. Some of the plot points were a little too contrived and convenient, but it's still and entertaining listen. The voices that Luke Daniels does are perfect. I can't wait to listen to more of this series!
