Publisher's summary

The first novel in the Iron Druid Chronicles - introducing a cool, new, funny urban fantasy hero

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.

Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power - plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish - to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.

Don’t miss any of Kevin Hearne’s phenomenal Iron Druid Chronicles novels:

Fun way to get into a new series.

What did you love best about Hounded?

This is a really entertaining series and the first book really sets up the events and characters for the next two books. The author obviously did his research on the Celtic gods and it made me more interested in the mythology. I especially loved the author's humor peppered throughout the book. There were times I was laughing out loud with some of the comments and especially the conversations Atticus has with his dog. I couldn't wait to listen to the next books in the series.

What other book might you compare Hounded to and why?

I think fans of the Dresden files would really enjoy this book. It has a similar feel in how it builds as well as the sarcastic humor of the main character.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Luke Daniels does an amazing job reading this book. He is really able to capture the characters in his voices, especially Oberon. I feel like I can really picture the characters and their reactions based on his naration and it makes the funny things Oberon says even more hillarious.

LOVE LOVE LOVE This series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, yes, yes!!! Hated when I finished the series. While I won't write a review of each book, I can't give this series a high enough review. I am seriously hooked on the humor and the interaction between the last Druid and his dog Oberon. That dog is seriously funny!!

What did you like best about this story?

Oberon. Hilarious!

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Because of Luke's talent, as I listened to the story it was like viewing a film in my mind.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I practically did.

Light hearted adventure with a new type of hero

Would you listen to Hounded again? Why?

This was a very enjoyable book, and I think the great performance made it even better.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hounded?

I loved the dog. The author captures how a dog would think beautifully and hilariously.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great performance with different voices and perfect emphasis. He brought it to life.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Druids and witches and werewolves, oh my!

Any additional comments?

Great fun. Wish it was longer and hope for deeper character development in future.

Fluffy Mythological Fun

Would you consider the audio edition of Hounded to be better than the print version?

Luke Daniels does a great job bringing the characters to life, with unique voices for each. The banter between Atticus and Oberon makes the book.

What did you like best about this story?

It's a light story, without much real depth, but it's fun and adventuresome for all that.

Which scene was your favorite?

Any scene with Oberon, especially where he pretends to be Genghis Khan or smack-talks one of the Tuatha de Danan.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I almost did! I listened to the first few chapters one evening, then finished it the next day.
