Publisher's summary

The first novel in the Iron Druid Chronicles - introducing a cool, new, funny urban fantasy hero

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.

Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power - plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish - to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.

Don’t miss any of Kevin Hearne’s phenomenal Iron Druid Chronicles novels:

"Hearne, a self-professed comic-book nerd, has turned his love of awesome dudes whacking mightily at evil villains into a superb urban fantasy debut.” (Publishers Weekly)

“A page-turning and often laugh-out-loud funny caper through a mix of the modern and the mythic.” (Ari Marmell, author of The Warlord’s Legacy)

“Kevin Hearne breathes new life into old myths, creating a world both eerily familiar and startlingly original.” (Nicole Peeler, author of Tempest Rising)

A new type of fiction for me.

This book was funny and exciting.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The old widow is ties for first place with the Wolfhound Oberon. Both Characters are people I would like to know.

Which scene was your favorite?

When the Druid uses his tatoos to connect to the earth and heal himself, I find myself wishing it was all true!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The imagary of a Wolfhound with 10 poodles as his harem- that is funny.

Any additional comments?

The ancient Irish mythology combined with modern new age hippie- good stuff.

Very entertaining series

The Iron Druid series is most enjoyable. The reader does a great job of voices and tones, I think he makes it a better book than it would be reading it due to his inflections. The story line is good as well, love all the modern additions to the ancient characters and of course anything with an Irish Wolfhound as a character is a good book for me

I'm getting the rest of the series

What made the experience of listening to Hounded the most enjoyable?

The plot was fun and the details given about the author's take on druidism helped with the suspension of disbelief.

What did you like best about this story?

It rolled. There was always a draw onto the next scene, a what-happens-next??? feeling that made the listening time too short.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I probably wouldn't have heard Scooby-doo in the wolf hound's voice :)

Wow

If you want a totally engaging and entertaining read, look no further. The characters are well developed and the story is a fun and exciting ride from start to finish. It has been a long time since a book has so engaged me that I found myself lost in the story, rooting for Atticus, laughing outloud at him and his dog (especially his dog) and looking forward to the next book on pins and needles... I listened to all 3 books in as many days and am now going back to start them all over.

Tour de.....Farce?

My son and I both enjoyed listening to this entertaining first book in the trilogy, which plays fast and free with cultural myths. Highly recommended.

Fantastic!

Finally an urban fantasy with enough complexity to keep my interest. Here is an author that has done his research and masterfully developed it into an intriguing narrative of irish folklore and fable. I love how he refers to many other cultures of mythology and flawlessly weaves them into the cosmos of the Iron Druid.
I am a huge fan of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files and have been lost since relistening to the series a 4th time. I can't wait to get into this series.
