BOOK 2 IN THE IRON DRUID CHRONICLES

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, doesn’t care much for witches. Still, he’s about to make nice with the local coven by signing a mutually beneficial nonaggression treaty - when suddenly the witch population in modern-day Tempe, Arizona, quadruples overnight. And the new girls are not just bad, they’re badasses with a dark history on the German side of World War II.

With a fallen angel feasting on local high school students, a horde of Bacchants blowing in from Vegas with their special brand of deadly decadence, and a dangerously sexy Celtic goddess of fire vying for his attention, Atticus is having trouble scheduling the witch hunt. But aided by his magical sword, his neighbor’s rocket-propelled grenade launcher, and his vampire attorney, Atticus is ready to sweep the town and show the witchy women they picked the wrong Druid to hex.

Dark & hilarious. Fast paced & riveting.

This dark urban fantasy is full of action and wit with great character development. It is easy to become immersed in this world; even though, there is the full pantheon of deities and supernatural creatures. I highly recommend this riveting and laugh-out-loud story.

Captivating, Witty Urban Fantasy Adventure

If you could sum up Hexed in three words, what would they be?

Humorous
Creative Worldbuilding
Exciting

What other book might you compare Hexed to and why?

Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series because of the tone and writing

I've only read a short story from Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, but it feels something like that, too.

Which scene was your favorite?

The time Atticus rushes to save his widowed neighbor from the witches and ends up buck naked with her teasing and a crabby werewolf misunderstanding. Exciting rescue and funny outcome.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I cried a little when a sweet and innocent person dies. I was so rooting Atticus on to get vengeance for that.

Any additional comments?

This is book two in the Iron Druid Chronicles and works best read/listened to in order.

Fantastic narrator voice in Luke Daniels.

Love this series

A great second book in the series. Terrific protagonist, lots of great creatures, humor & snark & action... And Oberon is simply THE BEST! The narrator does an excellent job with a variety of voices & accents. Can't wait to hear the next in the series!

A Fun Romp

All the ingredients of a modern urban fantasy, with a side of Shakespeare references, delivered with a light-hearted and mirthful touch.

The created world feels cohesive, and the magic system consistent, if a bit game-ified.

The first 2 books came to my library via sale, and I'm looking forward to reading more!

Great Series

Where does Hexed rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was a great sequel to the first book. I'm on the 4th book now and I am hoping they'll be more. The story is extremely well written. And I haven't heard a better narrator yet. Highly recommend this series.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He does a fantastic job seperating the characters with different voices and is consistent with his use of voices and characters throughout the entire 4 book series. I will be looking for more books narrated by Mr. Daniels

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed on several occassions, especially between the inter-actions between Atticus and his dog Oberon

Any additional comments?

Great Series hoping it continues with a book 5 and beyond. Definately a worthy purchase

Another Entertaining Installment

Kevin Hearne continues to entertain me with his stories of Atticus and his first-rate sidekick, Oberon. Hexed UF at its greatest.

Luke Daniels’ adaptable narration from character to character is an ear mark of a great narrator. And his narration of Oberon has me wishing I had an Irish Wolf Hound of my own.

Narrator brings characters to life

Kevin Hearne does a great job of blending fantasy and modern times and throws in some good, dry humor. I especially like the coversations between Atticus and his dog Oberon. I find myself laughing aloud as I listen to these conversations in my car. Luke Daniels has brought Kevin's characters to life for me. Not since listening to James Marsters narrate the Dresden FIles have I been so entertained and lost in the story and characters.
