Publisher's summary

Vampire and thief Raylene Pendle doesn’t need more complications in her life. Her Seattle home is already overrun by a band of misfits, including Ian Stott, a blind vampire, and Adrian deJesus, an ex–Navy SEAL/drag queen. But Raylene still can’t resist an old pal’s request: seek out and steal a bizarre set of artifacts. Also on the hunt is a brilliant but certifiably crazy sorceress determined to stomp anyone who gets in her way. But Raylene’s biggest problem is that Ian, after the death of his vaunted patriarch, has become the next target of some bloodsucking sociopaths. Now Raylene must snatch up the potent relics, solve a murder, and keep Ian safe — all while fending off that psychotic sorceress. But at least she won’t be alone. A girl could do a lot worse for a partner than an ass-kicking drag queen — right?

Good 2nd book

This book was very entertaining, just a bit less so than the first book. The main character's inner dialogue was less pertinent and a bit more repetitive, as if the author was distracted about half way through. It picked up again at the end. Can't wait for book 3.

Life is like a box of penis bones....

The first book took me a bit to get into but I'm glad I did. I'm enjoying the series so far.

Amazing

Need book 3 PLEASE I’ve been waiting for YEARS. I loved this series and I love this character. It’s so real and gritty. I love PITA the cat. That is such a cute name/acronym (Pain In The Ass) I couldn’t help but laugh. The book is slow but it just makes the story so much.... MORE. Very different than all my other books/series and I’m just wow. Book 3 is very much needed Miss Priest!

Laugh out loud fun

This book was a pleasure to listen to. Natalie Ross does a superb job of capturing Raylene's attitude and sense of humor (and this book has a lot of them both). The only voice I wasn't thrilled with was Ian's but every other voice was excellent. The book itself was hilarious (especially for an urban fantasy). Raylene was working two cases throughout the book and they were nicely balanced. One served as the humor in the story while the other was more serious, though never too serious as Raylene's sense of humor always comes through.

This is the second book in the series but you don't need to read the first one to enjoy this one. I have not read the first book and didn't feel I was missing anything (except for having missed what was probably a great read). Raylene does a nice job of summing up what happened in the first book right in the beginning (and periodically throughout when necessary) but doesn't overdo it. She gives just the right amount of background so the reader doesn't get lost.

I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys a good dose of humor with their urban fantasy. This book is not dark but rather light and fun. I also highly recommend listening to it if you can. It is well worth the audible credit.

Hellbent

I LOVED LOVED this book. Fell in love with the characters, and how their stories developed. The narrative was also EXCELLENT. I'm sad the book is over....wish there were more books.

Raylene's OCD is going to save the world!

Really, for light entertainment these books are pretty good. I really love the character off Adrian and wish we got more of him...Ian has yet to sell me. HOPE 3 picks up the pace!

Sorry, but this story was a Drag!

This story was so boring. I enjoyed the first book in this series and bought the second book. However, so much didn't make sense in this telling. The tale really dragged on and on and on. Don't get me wrong there were high points, (the penis bones), but the development was poorly done, and the rescue of Isabelle was just rushed. If you have nothing else to read then read this otherwise skip it. I was sooooo disappointed.
