Publisher's summary

The Cheyenne spirits have named him Heart of Scars. The Beast has taken just about everything it can from Sylvester Logan James, and for 20 years he has waged his war with silver bullets and a perfect willingness to die. But fighting monsters poses danger beyond death. Sylvester's feud has made him a villainous hero whose only remaining virtue is the greater evil of his adversary. Like a wounded animal, he charges headlong toward his own destruction. He contends with not just the ancient werewolf Peter Stubbe, the cannibalistic demon Windigo, and secret cartels, but with his own newfound fear of damnation. Haunted by cryptic nightmares and insatiable guilt, Sylvester's own resolve will not let him surrender to an easy death. And he may just find that his own demons are his closest allies.

I LIKE ADJECTIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly have no idea what I just listened too. I had to re-listen to sooooo much of this book to figure out what was going on.. The author uses adjectives like every other word. Seemed to have a very hard time getting to the point. Very disappointed with this one. I loved the first book. I feel the author was high as h*ll when he wrote this or has the imagination of a 12 year old. I do not recommend it. Only if you want to see what happens to the main character.. Sadly I will probably still listen to the 3rd book when it comes out. :/

The literacy level, good, lucid descriptions, intense, first person narratives of character experiences and development…

Denouement lacking in finality, too sketchy and inchoate, so antithetical to the character, incongruous with his reactions to prior events and experience

Good follow to a good start

Sequel follows up right where previous left off. More gore, more dead. More pain. If you liked first, you will wanna read this

Great book!

I love werewolf novels and this one is great. I read a lot of like novels and this one is definitely one of the best. The white wolf saga “THE BEAST OF
BRENTON WOODS” is the best this series but his series is is right up there, top 5 for me.

Boring Unenergetic Narration

I got theough the first hook, based solely on the quality of the story. This story was not as good and as a result the poor narration kept pulling me out of it. Basil Sands harkens back to the days of when audiobooks were unpopular and commonly bought on cassette tape. The narrators back then didn't realize that acting made the story much more enjoyable to read. The narrator here goes through all of the motions required, but his heart just isn't into it and it shows to dissapointing results. The one exception is his performance of Michael, which always seemed to command my attention, so he deserves credit for a great job on that, at least.
