Publisher's summary

From the author of The Iron Druid Chronicles comes a rollicking, all-new urban-fantasy adventure featuring Atticus O’Sullivan. Atticus has a history of messing with the gods, and in this original novella, he’ll have to outfox a deity at her own deadly cat-and-mouse game.

When he’s not vanquishing villainous gods or dodging demons, 2,000-year-old Druid Atticus O’Sullivan can be found behind the counter of Third Eye Books and Herbs in modern-day Tempe, Arizona, literally minding his own business. But when an evil sorcerer - and amateur shoplifter - snatches an ancient Egyptian tome of black magic, The Grimoire of the Lamb, Atticus is not sheepish about pursuing him to the ends of the earth...or at least to the Land of the Pharaohs.

Unfortunately Atticus already has enemies in Egypt - including cat goddess Bast, who wants her own book of mischief back from the Druid. In the streets of Cairo, she sends a feline phalanx after Atticus and his Irish wolfhound, Oberon. With fur still flying, Atticus must locate the sorcerer’s secret lair - where he will face killer crocodiles, spooky sarcophagi, and an ancient evil Egyptian who’s determined to order the sacrificial lamb special tonight.

Includes a bonus recording of the short story "Clan Rathskellar"!

I love what you're doing.

I'm impressed. Please keep writing for me, if not yourself. Starting Paper and Blood now.

Length of story only one hour !

I purchased this novella expecting three hours worth of new story of my favorite characters - but it's only a little more than an HOUR, the rest being a excerpt from "HUNTED" - which I already have - the description does not mention this.

Luke Daniels is Atticus O'Sullivan!!!!!

This book is a prequel to the Iron Druid series as a whole. The book is entertaining, it is just Atticus and Oberon with a brief appearance by Hal and The Widow (I really miss her). The whole Egyptian pantheon makes for an interesting story, and is something that I hope will be further explored at some point in the future. As always, Oberon gets the best lines- when he got his mind blown it cracked me up. I am not a fan of short stories or novellas within a full length series but Hearne does pretty well in that it doesn't feel super rushed and while I wished it had been longer, there weren't a ton of loose ends at the end of the story. Hunted cannot come out soon enough, all the excerpt did was whet my appetite for more. The short story was an added bonus, it's free on his website so I'd read it already but hearing Luke Daniels read it was pretty awesome. Love this series. Love Kevin Hearne. Love Luke Daniels. Love this story.

Cute as a button

This is a shorter work, but it's darling. It has Oberon with Atticus, and that is a grand combination. This is the first time I've seen Atticus work with Egyptian gods, but it's very fun, light and witty. A good read.

Nice teaser

These little short stories are usually really good or really mediocre. This one is good and I purchased it because the new book is coming out. I really hope this series goes on forever! Nice story and 5 star for the overall series.

Favorite Novella

This is my favorite novella out of any author I have read. it is fast passed and sassy. I love how the sterotype of Ancient Egypt is turned on it head too. The creativity and wit keep me laughing. I lost count of the number of times I have re-listened to this book.

I wish it was longer

Would you listen to Grimoire of the Lamb again? Why?

Sure I would listen to it again. If you like the Iron Druid series it is another bit of entertaining story.

What did you like best about this story?

The parts of the story that involve Atticus interacting Oberon are always my favorite parts.

What about Luke Daniels’s performance did you like?

I am used to his voice as the narration of this series. He does a good job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yeah, I get sucked into these, "popcorn", entertaining stories. I do it for entertainment, so I can turn my brain off and relax. Most of the time that means I listen until the story is over or I fall asleep because its 3AM.
