Publisher's summary

From the author of The Iron Druid Chronicles comes a rollicking, all-new urban-fantasy adventure featuring Atticus O’Sullivan. Atticus has a history of messing with the gods, and in this original novella, he’ll have to outfox a deity at her own deadly cat-and-mouse game.

When he’s not vanquishing villainous gods or dodging demons, 2,000-year-old Druid Atticus O’Sullivan can be found behind the counter of Third Eye Books and Herbs in modern-day Tempe, Arizona, literally minding his own business. But when an evil sorcerer - and amateur shoplifter - snatches an ancient Egyptian tome of black magic, The Grimoire of the Lamb, Atticus is not sheepish about pursuing him to the ends of the earth...or at least to the Land of the Pharaohs.

Unfortunately Atticus already has enemies in Egypt - including cat goddess Bast, who wants her own book of mischief back from the Druid. In the streets of Cairo, she sends a feline phalanx after Atticus and his Irish wolfhound, Oberon. With fur still flying, Atticus must locate the sorcerer’s secret lair - where he will face killer crocodiles, spooky sarcophagi, and an ancient evil Egyptian who’s determined to order the sacrificial lamb special tonight.

Includes a bonus recording of the short story "Clan Rathskellar"!

I love what you're doing.

I'm impressed. Please keep writing for me, if not yourself. Starting Paper and Blood now.

Length of story only one hour !

I purchased this novella expecting three hours worth of new story of my favorite characters - but it's only a little more than an HOUR, the rest being a excerpt from "HUNTED" - which I already have - the description does not mention this.

**Do not read 0.5 first! Start at Book 1(Hounded)

What did you love best about Grimoire of the Lamb?

I finished the six books and decided to try the novellas in the series. I enjoyed this one. I liked getting a little glimps of what all went on in his life before the big adventure he is on now. Its a cute little read and it goes right along with what you would expect him to get caught up in

What about Luke Daniels’s performance did you like?

He makes the Series. Ill never be able to listen to him read another series now, he is Atticus.

Any additional comments?

******************* I understand that it is book 0,5 because it took place at the begining of his adventures, but I just want to maybe recomment changing that. It was a great story, but its really not anything compareable to book 1, and I think when people go to start the series they follow the books in order. Might just be me but I am not sure if 0.5 would have hooked me on the series if I had started with it. Book 1 was so much more in depth, and made you want to read more. But thats not to say I didnt enjoy it :)

Enjoyable

Any additional comments?

I rather enjoyed the story and Luke Daniels as Atticus however I did not like his Oberon voice. This is the first audio version of these books I have listened to. I have read all the main story line except the current (2016) novel. I know people have different takes on character voices but I always imagined Oberons voice as kind of dopey but also intelligent and much deeper, he is a big dog after all. The way Luke does it makes Oberon sound very simple, almost idiotic (in my opinion). I am not saying his voice is wrong or bad just simply not what I imagined it to be. Otherwise Luke did an amazing job voicing the other characters. His Atticus is spot on and his accents are very well done. Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend either version (audio or print) to anyone who is a fan of the main story line.

Need more

This was another great story from Kevin Hearne about his long living druid and his dog. BUT, it was intirely too short. just as I got comfortable with the story and the characters again he cut me off with an ending. Come on Kevin, give us some more adventures of Atticus and his mighty hound. This one of the most enjoyable series of books I've had in a very long time.

Not the best, but still fun.

Although not my favorite IDC, this story was a fun interlude. I greatly enjoy the character development and is one of the few times we really see Atticus's owl form in action. It also provided a fun preview of future characters we would soon be introduced to.

Luke Daniels of course is a fantastic narrator and as the voice of Oberon he is second to none!

Love Kevin Hearne’s series! Luke Daniel’s is supreme! I wish the stories were longer but I just find myself reading more.

Why the weird dog voice?

Listened to the first in the series and loved it, got this for a short filler and couldn’t finish because, for some weird reason, the narrator decided to do an annoying baby talk voice for the dog? They didn’t do that on the other, and this is a more recent book, now I’m scared to listen to another :(
