Publisher's summary

Karigan G’ladheon, running away from school, is traveling through a deep forest when a galloping horse pounds up to her, its rider impaled by two black-shafted arrows. With his dying breath, he tells her he is a Green Rider, one of the magical messengers of the King. Before he dies, he makes Karigan swear to deliver the message he’s carrying, and gives her his green coat, with the symbolic brooch of his office.

Pursued by unknown assassins, following a path only her horse seems to know, Karigan becomes a legendary Green Rider—for when given to the right person, a Rider’s brooch awakens the magic inside.

Just amazing!

Kristen Britain takes you to a whole new place s with this book! She’s created a whole new world along the likes of Harry Potter and lord of the rings! This book has adventure, perils, love, and a very charismatic young woman. I have read and re-read this book, I have listened to this book over and over again and have not once gotten sick of it! Ellen archer does a fabulous job reading his book, distinguishing voices, not abrasive but not sleep inducing. Love love love this book!!

Excellent

I really loved this book. So much so that I went out and got all the books in the series and having finished them am eagerly and anxiously waiting for the next book in the series. This is sort of a cross between the Hobbit and the War God's Own. Well performed and an excellent plot that is well developed and very entertaining. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Poor accent choice

I thought that Ellen Archer was a wonderful reader but question her stereotyping the Anti-Monarchy Society leader with an Irish accent

best fantasy ever

the Green Rider series is the most wonderful fantasy series ever written. I've read it 5 times, and am working on a sixth. Getting to watch Karigan grow, change, and become more powerful is an adventure every time. There is non-stop action, light comedy, heart-wrenching tragedy, and just something for everyone. Even if you don't listen to the audiobook, reading the physical copy is worth your time.

Strong second half but a bit too tidy

My interest in the story was modest at about the midpoint and I quit the story and awarded it 3 stars. Then I came back and finished it some time later and scratched my head wondering why I had not liked it. Karigan and several other supporting characters were truly likeable. As a reluctant annointed one, Karigan is the kind of hero that I find more interesting. So also a world in which there are some genuinely good people. Maybe too nice - with an ending that almost feels like a happy-ever-after type.

A wild ride

This story dragged me in and haunted me until it was finished. I loved the magic, the sense of intrigue, and the players-each moving within his or her own choices. I’m hoping there’s a sequel. Feisty fantasy at its best.

Tale of Adventure

A stunning tale of adventure, Intrigue and betrayal. As well as wonders of magic not yet beheld by a mundane eye.

Love this series!

This book I read first when I was in middle school and I have learned from it over and over again - now it's nostalgic (nearly twenty years later lol) and I still enjoy it more than almost anything else on Audible. Listen to the whole series every couple of months while I'm driving and flying!!

GR8 narrator 4 ok story but will get next book!

Liked the narrator a lot. Story started out well, good characters and plot developments, then it just dragged along predictably. Hoping next book in series steps it up a couple of notches.
