Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for 300 years. No table of contents, but from the dates it looked to be some kind of history.

My Favorite Author
Robin comes through again on the grand finale of the epic Fitz and the Fool series. I’ll revisit the entire series again in a year or so, but for now I will savor my visit to Buckkeep Castle, and abide my time before coming home to Chivalry, Lord Golden, Chade, Dutiful, Kettricken, Nettle, and Molly. You are all in my heart.

I rarely enjoy books as much as I did this one.
It’s like two books in one. First part is excellent fantasy and adventure. Second part is essentially a very long, detailed epilogue. Epilogues usually leave you wanting more and not in the good way. But this book, just a fantastic finish. Cleans everything up as a story rather than just spewing details. Loved the book.

Worth the Listen
The story continues well in this installment of the series. And although it doesn't close all loose ends with elaboration, it does however end pleasantly. If you enjoyed the first two books, you should listen to this one also.
