Can humanity survive what it never saw coming?

A journalist wanders the wretched reality of an empty New York, searching for his wife and son. A serial killer must hunt in a land where prey is now an endangered species. A mother shields her young daughter from danger through every terror-filled breath.

A bullied teen is thrilled to find the world gone missing, until the knock on his door. A fugitive survives a fiery plane crash. Will he be redeemed, or return to the killing he's best at? Someone or something is watching them. And waiting...

Strangers unite. Sides are chosen. Can humanity survive what it never saw coming?

Could have been better

Interesting premise but lacked...something. Can't quite put my finger on what. But it just seemed to be missing something.
Narration was good except for the 8 year old kid. I have an 8 year old son and he talks nothing like the kid in this story. The 8 year old boy in this story talks like he is 5 years old. His vocabulary is much younger than it should be. That bugged me quite a bit.
This story could have been great but is okay at best. Author should have done a bit more research and observation of people he based his characters on.

Good Teaser

Interesting apocalypse teaser storyline. Episode 1 is mainly an introduction to the characters. Cause of the apocalypse is a mystery.

Enough

Enough of a story to go forward to the next. I'm doing Yesterday on Audible. I enjoyed the multiple readers (many familiar) introducing the cast of characters. Though, for a beginning, there are lots of them. Almost need a scorecard. The story premise - a nice original twist to an apcolipse theme. For me off to #2 creating the next review.

Yesterday's Gone: So is the interest in this book

Is there anything you would change about this book?

No.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The disappearance was most interesting. The cats without a face was not.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to Ray Chase before in Breakers. He's a great narrator.

Could you see FREE Yesterday's Gone: Season 1 - Episode 1 being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I read it was being made into a TV series. May watch it but probably won't continue in the audio book series.

Any additional comments?

No.

Gripping

Very interesting story and some rather strange and curious characters. I think I'll go ahead and buy the rest...

Weird

I'm still getting used to audio books, so it was weird to hear a story read in the third person as if by or to a child for those parts.

This reminds me of The Stand

If you could sum up FREE Yesterday's Gone: Season 1 - Episode 1 in three words, what would they be?

If you love The Stand by Stephen King. Then give this series a try. I have only listened to this book, but so far. it has the same feel to it. and I really did enjoy listening to it

I'm 'bout to buy the bundle Series!

THE Story? AWESOME!!
The Performance? F*****G AWESOME!! Bravo!
I could have read this book and totally enjoyed myself, but the audio experience is just brilliant! There's some books that just NEEDS to be read, but this story - just please do yourselves a favor - buy & listen to this whole story. I've never listened to a book that made me feel like I was watching a movie.
On soothe note: Honestly, I think R. C. Bray can tell me the scariest story and @ the end, I'd feel like he just proposed to me. Lol. His performance and VOICE is like a flame to a fire. Lol (cheesy, I know) but I can't help but fall in love with him (I. Mean, his characters) *wink wink - everytime i hear him. This book was not cheesy at all. I'm just saying. Lol.
